Contenders include Good Charlotte, Peter Garrett, Katy Perry and 5 Seconds Of Summer.

It was another Australian double at the top of the ARIA Charts last week, with The Avalanches debuting at #1 with their long-awaited second album Wildflower and The Veronicas holding the #1 spot on the Singles Chart for a second week with ‘In My Blood’.

Who are the acts vying for spots on this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s take a look at some of the potential movers and debuts.

ALBUMs

With their first album in six years, American pop punks Good Charlotte will be aiming for their second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with sixth album Youth Authority; Midnight Oil front man Peter Garrett returns to music with his debut solo album A Version Of Now; Brisbane singer-songwriter Emma Louise follows up 2013’s vs Head vs Heart (#12 Apr. ’13) with Supercry; with the film hitting cinemas last week, the soundtrack to the new Ghostbusters could make its chart debut this week; Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler goes solo for the first time with the country album We're All Somebody From Somewhere; veteran guitar hero Jeff Beck returns with his eleventh solo album Loud Hailer; Victorian rockers Stonefield will be looking for their second Albums Chart appearance with As Above, So Below; British soul artist Michael Kiwanuka could make his top 50 debut with second album Love & Hate; American band NeedToBreathe will be aiming for a top 50 debut with sixth album H A R D L O V E.

Albums likely to move back up the chart this week include Prince’s The Very Best Of and Meghan Trainor’s Title.

Singles

Created as an anthem for the upcoming Rio Olympics, Katy Perry releases her first single in two years, ‘Rise’; 5 Seconds Of Summer could pick up a tenth top 50 single with their Ghostbusters soundtrack song  ‘Girls Talk Boys’; Britney Spears returns with ‘Make Me...’a single from her forthcoming ninth album; Snakehips follow up ‘All My Friends’ (#3 Jan. ’16) with the Zayn collaboration ‘Cruel’; Good Charlotte could pick up their first Singles Chart top 50 entry since 2011 with ‘Life Can't Get Much Better’.

Look out for moves up the Singles Chart this week for Little Mix’s ‘Hair’, Illy’s ‘Papercuts’, Anne-Marie’s ‘Alarm’, Dua Lipa’s ‘Hotter Than Hell’, Usher’s ‘Crash’ and DJ Mustard’s ‘Don't Hurt Me’.
