Debuts for Broods, DJ Shadow and more!

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ The Getaway hits up week two at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Of the band’s six #1 albums, By The Way (#1 Jul. ’02) has had the longest run in the top spot, notching up four weeks.

This week’s Albums Chart features some big moves up the chart including Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface (up 13 to #12), Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams (up seven to #13), Taylor Swift’s 1989 (up seven to #14), Play School’s 50 Best Songs (up 13 to #17), The Wiggles’ The Best Of (up eight to #18).

The highest re-entry this week is Fleetwood Mac’s The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac. It’s back in the top 50 at #21.

Debuts:

#2: Broods ‘Conscious’ – The second album from Broods gives the New Zealand duo a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. Conscious comes two years on from debut album Evergreen (#5 Sept. ’14) and includes the single ‘Free’ (#30 Apr. ’16).

#31: DJ Shadow ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ – American producer DJ Shadow returns with his fifth album and first in five years, The Mountain Will Fall. The follow-up to The Less You Know, The Better is DJ Shadow’s first top 50 appearance since The Outsider (#44 Sept. ’06).

#35: Ramin Djawadi ‘Game Of Thrones (Music From The HBO Series - Season 6)’ – The first ARIA Charts appearance by a Game Of Thrones soundtrack. Like the previous five seasons, season six’s soundtrack was composed by German composer Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi also composed the soundtrack to the recent Warcraft film.

#37: Neil Young + Promise Of The Real ‘Earth’ – A new live album from the legendary Neil Young. Earth features tracks recorded during the tour in support of The Monsanto Years (#23 Jul. ’15) and features backing from Promise Of The Real, which includes Willie Nelson’s sons Lukas and Micah.
