Dangerous Woman gives Ariana Grande second ARIA #1

Debuts for Eric Clapton, Blake Shelton, Bob Dylan and more!

American artist Ariana Grande has debuted at #1 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with her third album, Dangerous Woman. It’s her second #1 (see below).

There’s moves this week by Taylor Swift’s 1989 (up nine to #6), Prince’s The Very Best Of (up four to #7), Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams (up 17 to #14), Ed Sheeran’s + (35 to #17), Kate Ceberano’s Anthology (up 17 to #18) and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness (up 14 to #26).

Debuts:

#1: Ariana Grande ‘Dangerous Woman’ – Ariana Grande picks up her second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Dangerous Woman. The follow-up to the American artist’s My Everything (#1 Sept. ’14) features appearances from Nicki Minaj, Macy Gray and Lil Wayne, amongst others. Two singles have charted from the album: the title track (#18 Apr. ’16) and ‘Into You’ (new this week at #46).

#10: Eric Clapton ‘I Still Do’ – Eric Clapton returns with I Still Do. The guitar hero’s twenty-third solo studio album is the follow-up to The Breeze - An Appreciation of JJ Cale (#17 Aug. ’14). It’s Clapton’s first top ten album since the B.B. King collaboration Riding With The King (#5 Sept. ’00).

#11: Bob Dylan ‘Fallen Angels’ – In the week of his 75th birthday, the legendary Bob Dylan releases his thirty-seventh album, Fallen Angels. Like predecessor Shadows In The Night (#8 Feb. ‘15), Fallen Angels features Dylan’s take on tracks from the Great American Songbook. All but one of the tracks on the album was also recorded by the late Frank Sinatra.

#13: Blake Shelton ‘If I’m Honest’ – American country artist Blake Shelton picks up his third top 50 appearance thanks to tenth studio album If I'm Honest. The singer-songwriter’s tenth album takes over from Based on a True Story... (#38 Apr. ’13) as his highest ARIA Charts peak.

#24: Highasakite ‘Camp Echo’ – Norwegian band Highasakite make their first top 50 appearance with Camp Echo. The band’s third album is the follow-up to 2014’s Silent Treatment.

#36: Issues ‘Headspace’ – After debuting at #50 in February 2014 with their self-titled debut, American band Issues nab their second chart entry with Headspace. It becomes the metalcore band’s highest chart entry.

#44: Saosin ‘Along The Shadow’ – Post-hardcore band Saosin chart in the ARIA top 50 for the first time with ‘Along The Shadow’. It’s the band’s third album and first since reforming in 2014. It’s also the first album to feature original vocalist Anthony Green.
