Major Lazer spend second week at #1

Big moves by Usher, Jonas Blue, Twenty One Pilots and more!

Major Lazer remains atop the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week with ‘Cold Water’. It becomes the trio’s longest run in the top spot, with previous #1 ‘Lean On’ (#1 Apr. ’15) only holding #1 for one week.

A jump of seven spots for ‘Crash’ gives Usher his twelfth top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart and first since ‘More’ peaked at #7 in 2011. The R&B star first hit the top ten with ‘You Make Me Wanna’ (#6 Apr. ’98) and has scored #1s with ‘Yeah!’ (#1 Mar. ’04) and ‘OMG’ (#1 May ’10).

After debuting at #42 last week, Jonas Blue’s ‘Perfect Strangers’ becomes this week’s biggest mover, jumping 31 spots to #11.

There are also moves this week for Shawn Mendes’ ‘Treat You Better’ (up one to a new peak at #4), Anne-Marie’s ‘Alarm’ (up three to #7), Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Heathens’ (up 14 to #19), Mike Perry’s ‘The Ocean’ (up 12 to #27) and Snakehips’ ‘Cruel’ (up seven to #34).

Debuts:

#2: The Chainsmokers Feat. Halsey ‘Closer’ – The fourth Singles Chart entry for The Chainsmokers. ‘Closer’ becomes the American DJ duo’s highest debut and peak. They’ve previously charted with ‘#SELFIE’ (#3 Apr. ’14), ‘Roses’ (#5 Feb. ’16) and ‘Don't Let Me Down’ (#3 Apr. ’16).

#26: Kenny Chesney Feat. P!nk ‘Setting The World On Fire’ – The debut ARIA Singles Chart entry for American country Kenny Chesney. Featuring P!nk, ‘Setting The World On Fire’ is the second single from Chesney’s forthcoming seventeenth studio album, Cosmic Hallelujah. Chesney has had three albums appear in the top 50 on the ARIA Albums Chart, peaking highest with The Big Revival (#31 Oct. ’14).

#40: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Feat. Xperience ‘Brad Pitt’s Cousin’ – The third single to chart from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s second album This Unruly Mess I've Made (#6 Mar. ’16). It follows on from ‘Downtown’ (#1 Oct. ’15) and ‘Dance Off’ (#7 Mar. ’16).
