This week's ARIA Charts contenders

Contenders include Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Safia, Jason Aldean and more.

At the top of the ARIA Charts last week, A Day To Remember  snared their first #1 album with Bad Vibrations and The Chainsmokers notched up a fifth week at #1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Closer’.

Who’ll top this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s take a look at some of the titles that could shake things up this week.

ALBUMs

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds could be headed for their second consecutive #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with sixteenth album Skeleton Tree; Canberra trio Safia will be aiming for the top with their debut album Internal; American country artist Jason Aldean could hit the top ten for the first time with seventh album They Don't Know; British band Bastille return with second album Wild World; Canada’s Devin Townsend Project could make their top 50 debut with Transcendence; the trio of Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris could make a double debut with compilations My Dear Companion: Selections From The Trio Collection and The Complete Trio Collection; Jack White could pick up the third top 50 appearance of his solo career with the compilation Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016; Grouplove could snare a new Albums Chart peak with Big Mess; All Time Low releases the live album Straight To DVD II: Past, Present, And Future Hearts; indie veterans Wilco could return to the top 50 for the first time since 2011 with Schmilco; Sydney electronic  act What So Not could debut with the EP Divide & Conquer; American metal band Of Mice & Men could pick up a second top 50 appearance with Cold World; Adelaide punk band The Hard Aches could make their debut with EP I Freak Out; Melbourne’s Northeast Party House could make their top 50 debut with album two Dare; M.I.A. could chart for the first time since 2010 with AIM.

Albums looking to return to the top 50 this week include The Beatles’ Live At The Hollywood Bowl and Play School’s Famous Friends: Celebrating 50 Years Of Play School.

Singles

Lady Gaga could make her first appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart in three years with comeback track ‘Perfect Illusion’; Guy Sebastian could grab his first Singles Chart appearance for 2016 with ‘Candle’.

Look out for moves up this week’s chart by Sia’s ‘The Greatest’, Zara Larsson’s ‘Ain't My Fault’, Imany’s ‘Don't Be So Shy (Filatov & Karas Remix)’ and Katy Perry’s ‘Rise’.
