Who'll challenge for this week's #1s?

Contenders include The Amity Affliction, PartyNextDoor, Betty Who and more.

At the top of the ARIA Charts last week, American duo The Chainsmokers picked up their first #1 single with ‘Closer’ and the soundtrack Suicide Squad: The Album debuted in the top spot on the Albums Chart.

Will we see new #1s on this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s take a look at some of the contenders.

ALBUMs

Queensland metalcore band The Amity Affliction will be on the hunt for their third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with fifth album This Could Be Heartbreak; Canada’s PartyNextDoor could make his top 50 debut with second album PartyNextDoor 3; Sydney band Thy Art Is Murder has teamed up with fellow deathcore bands The Acacia Strain and Fit for An Autopsy for the split EP The Depression Sessions.

Look out for moves up this week’s Albums Chart by Delta Goodrem’s Wings Of The Wild, Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface, Meghan Trainor’s Thank You, Hilltop Hoods’ Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung, Disturbed’s Immortalized and DJ Khaled’s Major Key.

Singles

Sydney artist Betty Who could make her ARIA Charts debut with her cover of Donna Lewis’ #2 hit from 1996, ‘I Love You Always Forever’; after peaking at #5 as the featured artist on Flume’s ‘Say It’, Tove Lo could return to the top 50 as a lead artist for the first time since 2014 with ‘Cool Girl’; Martin Garrix  could chart for the first time in three years with ‘In The Name Of Love’; DNCE follow up ‘Cake By The Ocean’ (#6 Jun. ’16) with ‘Toothbrush’.

Singles that could move up this week’s chart include the Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors, Ty Dolla $ign and Logic collaboration ‘Sucker For Pain’ and Mike Perry’s ‘The Ocean’.
