Contenders include The Temper Trap, Garbage and The Veronicas.

Last week’s charts saw ARIA Hall Of Famer Jimmy Barnes equal the record for most #1s on the Albums Chart with his 11th #1, Soul Searchin’. On the Singles Chart, Calvin Harris notched up his second week in the top spot with the Rihanna collaboration ‘This Is What You Came For’.

Who’s in contention for this week’s ARIA Charts?

Melbourne’s The Temper Trap are aiming for their second #1 with third album Thick As Thieves; indie veterans Garbage return with sixth album and first in four years, Strange Little Birds; the new project from Angus Stone, Dope Lemon, release their debut album Honey Bones; a year on from his self-titled second album, Nick Jonas could grab a new peak with Last Year Was Complicated; American post-hardcore band letlive. could grab their first top 50 with fourth album If I'm The Devil...; Band Of Horses could pick up their third top 50 with Why Are You OK, their fifth album and first in four years; Paul McCartney releases a new set spanning his Wings and solo years, Pure McCartney; British singer-songwriter Tom Odell could score a top 50 debut with second album Wrong Crowd; to celebrate its 50th year, Play School releases the compilation 50 Best Songs; Sydney’s Ngaiire could make her Albums Chart debut thanks to second album Blastoma.

Albums that could make a move up the chart this week include INXS’ The Very Best, Molly (Soundtrack From The TV Series) and Halsey’s Badlands.

Singles

The Veronicas return with the first single from their forthcoming fourth album, ‘In My Blood’; French soul singer Imany could make her top 50 debut with ’Don't Be So Shy’; Usher could pick up his first chart appearance in two years with ‘Crash’; Fifth Harmony could nab a second charting track from 7/27 with the Fetty Wap collaboration ‘All In My Head (Flex)’.
