Anthony Callea has debuted at #1 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with his sixth studio album ARIA Number 1 Hits In Symphony. It’s the eighth Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2017.

Lana Del Rey’s latest album, Lust For Life, has jumped up 19 spots to #19. It’s the former #1’s eighth week in the top 50.

With news that he’ll be touring Australia in November, Drake has moved up eight spots to #28 with More Life and has re-entered the top 50 at #49 with Views.

As Tina Arena’s national tour kicks off, Greatest Hits / Interpretations re-enters the chart at #48.

Debuts:

#1: Anthony Callea ‘ARIA Number 1 Hits In Symphony’ – Melbourne-born singer Anthony Callea takes out his third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with ARIA Number 1 Hits In Symphony. The follow-up to Backbone (#1 Sept. ’16) sees Callea and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing versions of twelve tracks that have hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Tracks covered include John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’ (#1 Dec. ’13), Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ (#1 Jun. ’11), George Michael’s ‘Jesus To A Child’ (#1 Jan. ’96) and Callea’s own ‘Rain’ (#1 Mar. ’05). Anthony Callea first topped the ARIA Albums Chart with his self-titled debut album (#1 Apr. ’05).

#2: The National ‘Sleep Well Beast’ – With their seventh studio album, American band The National pick up their second #2 debut on the ARIA Albums Chart. Sleep Well Beast is the five-piece’s first album release since Trouble Will Find Me (#2 May ’13) four years ago.

#3: Jack Johnson ‘All The Light Above It Too’ – Singer-songwriter Jack Johnson’s seventh studio album gives the American artist a seventh top three peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. All The Light Above It Too comes four years on from From Here To Now To You (#3 Sept. ’13). Of Johnson’s seven top three peaks, four have been #1s: In Between Dreams (#1 Mar. ’05), Sing-A-Longs And Lullabies: Songs For The Film Curious George (#1 Feb. ’06), Sleep Through The Static (#1 Feb. ’08) and To The Sea (#1 Jun. ’10).

#6: Kip Moore ‘Slowheart’ – American country artist Kip Moore picks up his second top 50 entry with Slowheart. Moore’s third album takes over from 2015’s Wild Ones (#29 Apr. ’17) as his highest peak.

#12: Nothing But Thieves ‘Broken Machine’ – The second studio album from Nothing But Thieves gives the British band a new ARIA Charts peak. Broken Machine comes two years on from the Essex group’s self-titled debut (#27 Oct. ’15).

#13: Odesza ‘A Moment Apart’ – Seattle electronic duo Odesza claim their first top 50 entry on the ARIA Albums Chart with third album A Moment Apart. Featuring contributions from Leon Bridges, Regina Spektor and more, the album is the follow-up to 2014’s In Return.

#16: Catsplay ‘Happy Hour’ – Jazz duo Catsplay snare their first appearance in the top 50 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Happy Hour. The group is a new collaboration between bassist Robyn Payne and pianist Andrew Hagger. They recently launched the album with three shows in Melbourne.

#22: Neil Young ‘Hitchhiker’ – Recorded in a single night in August 1976, the album Hitchhiker is the latest archival release by the legendary Neil Young. Young’s label at the time refused to release the album, with some of the tracks ending up on subsequent Young albums including Rust Never Sleeps, Comes A Time and Le Noise (#41 Oct. ’10). Young most recently appeared in the top 50 with Earth (#37 Jul. ’16).

#26: Arch Enemy ‘Will To Power’ – The tenth studio album by Arch Enemy gives the Swedish melodic death metal band their top 50 debut. Will To Power comes three years on from War Eternal. In between studio albums, Arch Enemy released the live album As The Stages Burn!

#30: Thomas Rhett ‘Life Changes’ – American country singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett’s third album  Life Changes has delivered him his first top 50 entry. The album is the follow-up to 2015’s Tangled Up. Rhett released It Goes Like This, his debut album, in 2013.
