Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

American grunge legends Pearl Jam took out their only #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Last Kiss’ held the top spot for seven consecutive weeks between July and September 1999. The track was a cover of a song originally released by American artist Wayne Cochran in 1961. Pearl Jam first released their version on the b-side of their 1998 Fan Club Christmas single but it came to greater prominence when it was included on the multi-artist release No Boundaries: A Benefit For The Kosovar Refugees.

The single debuted at #2 at the end of June 1999 before hitting #1 for the first time in its fifth week in the Top 50. ‘Last Kiss’ spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top Ten and 33 weeks in the Top 50.

Being accredited 3x Platinum, the single was #4 on the 1999 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.
Pearl Jam’s last appearance in the Top Ten was with ‘Nothing As It Seems’ (#7 May ’00).
