Crowded House - Temple Of Low Men

The second studio album from 2016 ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees Crowded House gave the group the second of their five #1s to date on the ARIA Albums Chart when it spent one week in the top spot in July 1988. The follow-up to Crowded House (#1 Jun. ’87) debuted at #2 before taking #1 in its second week in the chart. Temple Of Low Men spent a total of 17 weeks in the top ten and 29 weeks in the top 50.

Singles released from Temple Of Low Men include ‘Better Be Home Soon’ (#2 Jul. ’88), ‘When You Come’ (#27 Oct. ’88). ‘Into Temptation’ (#59 Jan. ’89), ‘Sister Madly’ (#66 May ’89) and ‘I Feel Possessed’ (#93 Feb. ’90). The album has been accredited 3x Platinum and was #14 on the 1988 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Crowded House have since topped the ARIA Albums Chart with Recurring Dream - The Very Best Of... (#1 Jul. ’96), Time On Earth (#1 Jul. ’07) and Intriguer (#1 Jun. ’10).

Kylie Minogue - Got To Be Certain

Kylie Minogue’s third consecutive #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart came when her third single, ‘Got To Be Certain’, spent three straight weeks at the top of the charts in July 1988. The second single from Minogue’s debut album, Kylie (#2 Jul. ‘88), ‘Got To Be Certain’ debuted at #1 and went on to spend a total of nine weeks in the top ten  and 14 weeks in the top 50.

The single was #18 on the 1998 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart and received a Gold accreditation.

Prior to ‘Got To Be Certain’, Kylie Minogue hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Locomotion’ (#1 Aug. ’87) and ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ (#1 Mar. ‘88). She’s since scored #1s with ‘Confide In Me’ (#1 Sept. ‘94), ‘Spinning Around’ (#1 Jun. ‘00), ‘On A Night Like This’ (#1 Sept. ‘00), ‘Can't Get You Out Of My Head’ (#1 Sept. ‘01), ‘In Your Eyes’ (#1 Jan. ‘02), ‘Slow’ (#1 Nov. ‘03) and ‘2 Hearts’ (#1 Nov. ‘07).

Kylie Minogue was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2011.
