Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

Contenders include Linkin Park, Liam Payne, Selena Gomez and more.

There was new #1s on the ARIA Charts last week, with Harry Styles’ self-titled debut album giving the One Direction star his first solo #1 on the Albums Chart and ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee hitting #1 on the Singles Chart.

Which acts could we see making an impact on this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s have a look at this week’s contenders.

ALBUMs

Linkin Park will be aiming for an eighth top ten appearance with One More Light; American band Papa Roach could pick up a new Albums Chart peak with ninth album Crooked Teeth; country trio Rascal Flatts could chart for the first time since 2014 with Back To Us; Melbourne duo the Pierce Brothers could pick up their third Albums Chart entry with The Records Were Ours; British power metal band DragonForce return with seventh album Reaching Into Infinity.

Following the passing of Soundgarden and Audioslave front man Chris Cornell, expect there to be appearances on the chart for Soundgarden’s Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, King Animal and A-Sides, Audioslave’s Audioslave, Out Of Exile and Revelations and the Cornell solo albums Higher Truth and Songbook.

Following the release of a deluxe edition of the album, expect Blink-182’s California to make its way back up the chart.

Singles

Former One Direction member Liam Payne could pick up his first solo appearance on the Singles Chart with debut single ‘Strip That Down’; Selena Gomez follows ‘It Ain’t Me’ (#4 Mar. ’17) with ‘Bad Liar’; Katy Perry previews a third track from Witness, ‘Swish Swish’; Imagine Dragons release the second track from their forthcoming album Evolve, ‘Thunder’; American rapper Logic could score his first top 50 entry as a lead artist with ‘1-800-273-8255’; former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello could make her solo debut on the Singles Chart with ‘Crying In The Club’.

Look out for moves up this week’s Singles Chart by Niall Horan’s ‘Slow Hands’, Cheat Codes’ ‘No Promises’ and Charlie Puth’s ‘Attention’. Following Chris Cornell’s passing, Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’ (#6 Aug. ’94) could return to the top 50.
