Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

March 8, 2017

Contenders include: Ed Sheeran, Lorde, All Our Exes Live In Texas and more.

At the top of the ARIA Charts last week, Australian folk rock band The Waifs became the fourth Australian act to hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2017 , debuting in the top spot with their eighth album ‘Ironbark’ and Ed Sheeran sat at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Shape Of You’ for the eighth consecutive week.

Which artists will we see challenging for the prime positions on the ARIA Charts this week?

Let’s check out some of the contenders.

ALBUMS

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran could be set to take out the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week with his third studio album ÷ (pronounced "divide"); Australian folk group All Our Exes Live in Texas are aiming for their first appearance on ARIA Album Chart with their debut album ‘When We Fall’; Melbournian rock band Kingswood could score their second top 50 appearance with album number two ‘After Hours, Close To Dawn’; Perth trio Methyl Ethel could make their top 50 ARIA Album Chart debut with their second album ‘Everything Is Forgotten’ and with Justin Bieber’s Australian tour up and running, his #1 charting album ‘Purpose’ (#1 Nov. ’15) could make its way back into the Top 50 ARIA Albums Chart for a 49th week.

SINGLES

On the back of the release of Ed Sheeran’s third studio album ‘Divide’, it looks like all sixteen album tracks could make their way into this week’s ARIA Top 50 Single Chart; New Zealand singer and songwriter Lorde will be aiming for her second top five appearance with ‘Green Light’, the lead single from her upcoming second studio album ‘Melodrama’.

Singles that could jump up the chart this week include ‘Stay’ by Zedd Feat. Alessia Cara & ‘You Don’t Know Me’ by Jax Jones Feat. Raye.

The weekly ARIA Charts announcement happens every Saturday at 5pm.
