ARIA has announced today that the weekly ARIA Charts will now be released at 7pm Saturday night, moving from the traditional time of 6pm Sunday. The change will take effect starting this Saturday 1st June with the ARIA Singles Chart officially announced via ‘Take 40 Australia’ with Jackie O from 3pm – 7pm on the Today Network, while the full list of ARIA Charts, including the Album, Australian and Genre Charts will all be released on this site at 7pm.
ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said the move is a positive one for music fans across the country, “In today’s fast moving information age we wanted to make sure that we could announce the ARIA Charts at the earliest possible time, giving Australian music fans the most up to date account of what tracks and albums have charted over the past week. It will be exciting to have the Charts revealed for the first time on national radio and in synch with our social media, with the number one track in the country announced at 7pm on Saturday night.”
“This is a fantastic development for the ARIA Charts which serve as the official barometer of what music fans across the country are buying and listening to each week and act as an important source of information for both the industry and fans alike.”
The ARIA Chart week (the days in which sales are collated) will still remain Friday through to Thursday.
