A new No.1 this week, with Iyaz taking over the top spot from Owl City. Replay had been in the chart for six weeks before reaching pole position. Fireflies moves back into No.2. Both Mumford and Sons tracks currently in the chart moved up this week; Little Lion Man went from No.5 to No.3, while The Cave moved from No.62 to No.33. David Guetta gets his third top ten single from his album One Love with Memories (Feat. Kid Cudi) at No.9.  Rihanna’s Rude Boy moves from No.45 to No.23 and You’ve Got The Love by Florence + The Machine storms up from No.94 to No.57.

BABY - Justin Bieber Feat. Ludacris
No.37

This new single from Canadian-born teen star, Justin Bieber, is his second to appear on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track sees Bieber team up with hip hop star and fellow Atlanta resident Ludacris. The track has already gone to No.3 in Bieber’s native Canada and to No.5 on the Billboard 100.  Bieber’s first charting single in Australia was One Time (No.30 Feb. ’10).

DROP THE WORLD - Lil Wayne Feat. Eminem
No.56
With a year-long jail term just days away, Lil Wayne scores a chart hit with this collaboration with Eminem. Drop The World comes from Lil Wayne’s “rock” album Rebirth. It’s the second single to chart from the album, following Prom Queen (No.93 Mar. ’09). Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, was sentenced to one year’s jail after being found guilty of attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

I WISH I KNEW NATALIE PORTMAN (CAN'T REALLY MAKE YOU LOVE ME) - K-os
No.71

Without a doubt, the strangest title in the chart this week has come from this single by Canadian rapper-producer K-os. The track comes from K-os’ fourth album, Yes! It’s his first release to enter the ARIA Singles Chart. The song, which features rapper Saukrates and Nelly Furtado, samples Phantom Planet’s track California (best known as the theme tune from The O.C.). On the title of the song, K-os has explained that he considers Natalie Portman to be the best of the American ideal.

LOVE LIKE THIS - Natalie Bassinghtwaighte
No.88

The fifth single from Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s debut album, 1000 Stars (No.1 Mar. ’09) gives her a fourth entry on the ARIA Singles Chart. Albums

The tussle for top spot on the albums chart was tight this week but, in the end, Susan Boyle held on to the top spot over Mumford & Sons. Boyle has now been No.1 for eleven weeks. The rest of the top five remains the same, although Lady Gaga and Michael Buble have swapped spots. Elsewhere, Grammy winner and current visitor to Australia, Taylor Swift, has stormed to No.7with Fearless. Florence + The Machine have achieved a new peak of No.12 with Lungs and Sarah Blasko climbs back up eight spots to No.18 with As Day Follows Night. UK band The XX is the week’s biggest mover; their debut album has moved from No.94 to No.40. Finally, Lily Allen’s second album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, celebrates a full year on the chart.

BLACK LIGHT - Groove Armada
No.17

The sixth studio album from London electronica duo, Groove Armada, is their first in three years. Black Light follows on from 2007’s Schoolboy Rock (No.30 May ’07). Tom Findlay has said that the album features Groove Armada’s “darker side”. Appearing on the track Warsaw is Pnau, Empire Of The Sun and Teenager man Nick Littlemore. Groove Armada just wrapped up an Australian tour as part of the Big Day Out.

HELLBILLY DELUXE 2 - Rob Zombie
No.23

Returning to the chart is metal hero, film director and screenwriter Rob Zombie and his fourth studio album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2. Hellbilly Deluxe (No.37 Sept. ’98) was Zombie’s first solo album following the split of his band White Zombie in 1998 and this new album is its sequel. The album’s release was held back several times due to Zombie’s commitments as writer, director and producer of the film Halloween II, the sequel to his 2007 remake of classic horror film, Halloween.

ONE LIFE STAND - Hot Chip
No.27
After debuting on the chart with Made In The Dark (No.25 Feb. ‘08), UK electro quintet Hot Chip, get their second placing on the ARIA chart with their new album, One Life Stand. The album is the band’s fourth studio album. Several unlikely inspirations have been sighted by the band for the creation of One Life Stand including Willie Nelson, Donna Summer, Fleetwood Mac and Susan Boyle.

THE BETRAYED - Lostprophets
No.49

After almost four years without an album release, Welsh band Lostprophets release their fourth studio album, The Betrayed. The time between this new release and that of Liberation Transmission (No.62 July ’06) saw the band facing trouble with labels and producers. It’s believed an albums-worth of material was recorded by the band but was scrapped before the groundwork for The Betrayed began. The Betrayed’s chart debut gives the band their highest peak on the ARIA Albums Chart.

THE COURAGE OF OTHERS - Midlake
No.61

Hailing from Dento, Texas, is indie quintet Midlake. The band who have released two previous studio albums, are making their ARIA Albums Chart debut with this, their third studio album. The band formed in 1999 and originally performed jazz-funk music. The band’s previous two albums are 2004’s Bamnan And Slivercork and 2006’s The Trials Of Van Occupanther.
