This week’s debuts include DMA’s, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Anthrax and Steel Panther.

Manchester band The 1975 have taken out their first #1 on the ARIA Charts with I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. The group’s second album has also given them their second UK #1 album.

Michael Jackson’s classic 1979 album Off The Wall has re-entered the chart at #17 on the back of a new reissue.

Kelly Clarkson’s seventh album Piece By Piece has re-entered at #23 on the back of the success of the title track on the Singles Chart (debuting at #24 this week).

There have also been moves up the chart for James Bay’s ‘Chaos And The Calm’ (up nine to #27), Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ (up eight to #29) and Nicole Car’s ‘The Kiss’ (up eight to #34).

Debuts:

#1: The 1975 ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ – British group The 1975 pick up their first #1 on the ARIA Charts with I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. The group’s second album is the follow-up to their 2013 self-titled debut (#29 Jan. ’15). Two tracks from the album have already charted: ‘Love Me’ (#35 Oct. ’15) and ‘Somebody Else’ (#34 Feb. ’16).

#3: Hillsong Young & Free ‘Youth Revival’ – The second album from Christian group Hillsong Young & Free. They first charted with debut We Are Young & Free (#6 Oct. ’13). A DVD of the same name was also released last week featuring a live performance from Sydney.

#6: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ‘This Unruly Mess I've Made’ – Album two from American hip hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. This Unruly Mess I've Made features the #1 single ‘Downtown’ (#1 Oct. ’15) and new single ‘Dance Off’, debuting at #21 this week. Their debut The Heist peaked at #2 in January 2013.

#7: Hands Like Houses ‘Dissonants’ – Canberra post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses pick up their first top 50 appearance with third album Dissonants. The group’s last album, 2013’s Unimagine, peaked at #51.

#8: DMA's ‘Hills End’ – Debut album from Sydney band DMA’s. The trio have made one previous appearance on the ARIA Charts, peaking at #84 in April 2014 with debut single ‘Delete’.

#12: Anthrax ‘For All Kings’ – Thrash metal legends Anthrax return with eleventh studio album For All Kings. It’s their first album since Worship Music (#35 Sept. ’11) and becomes their highest ever peak on the ARIA Albums Chart, overtaking both Persistence Of Time (#30 Sept. ’90) and Sound Of White Noise (#30 May ’93).

#19: Steel Panther ‘Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage’ – Comedy glam band Steel Panther pick up their third appearance on the Albums Chart with acoustic album Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage. The live acoustic album is the follow-up to All You Can Eat (#2 Apr. ’14) and features tracks from throughout the band’s career.

#32: Celtic Thunder ‘Legacy Vol. 1’ – Irish vocal group Celtic Thunder pick up their seventh top 50 appearance with the live compilation Legacy Vol. 1. Their last chart appearance was with The Very Best Of (#39 Mar. ’15).

#39: Chase Rice ‘Ignite The Night’ – American country singer-songwriter Chase Rice makes his Albums Chart debut with Ignite The Night. The album was released in 2014 but has charted now ahead of Rice’s appearance at CMC Rocks next week.

#41: Various ‘George Fest: A Night To Celebrate The Music Of George Harrison’ – Recorded at the Fonda Theatre, Los Angeles in September 2014, this live album brings together performances of the music of the “Quiet Beatle” from the likes of Brian Wilson, The Flaming Lips, Norah Jones, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and more.
