Rise gives Katy Perry fourth #1

Debuts for 5SOS, Britney and more!

With ‘Rise’, her first single in two years, Katy Perry has scored her fourth #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

After debuting at #37 last week, ‘Papercuts’ has jumped 29 spots to #8 this week to give Illy his first top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. The Melbourne rapper’s previous best was with ‘Tightrope’ (#18 Jun. ’14).

A jump of one spot has given Little Mix their fourth top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. The British girl group have previously charted in the top ten with ‘Wings’ (#3 Nov. ’12), ‘Change Your Life’ (#8 Apr. ’13) and ‘Black Magic’ (#8 Jun. ’15).

Moving up 18 spots to #12 from last week’s debut position, ‘Alarm’ overtakes ‘Do It Right’ (#22 May ’16) as Anne-Marie’s highest-charting single.

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Dua Lipa’s ‘Hotter Than Hell’ (up eight to #17), Usher’s ‘Crash’ (up three to #20), DJ Mustard’s ‘Don’t Hurt Me’ (up eight to #28), MØ’s ‘Final Song’ (up six to #35) and Drake’s ‘Controlla’ (up one to #49).

Debuts:

#1: Katy Perry ‘Rise’ – With her first new entry on the ARIA Singles Chart since ‘This Is How We Do’ (#18 Sept. ’14), Katy Perry scores her fourth #1 single. ‘Rise’ was created as an anthem for the upcoming Rio Olympics. Her three previous #1 singles were with ‘I Kissed A Girl’ (#1 Aug. ’08), ‘California Gurls’ (#1 Jun. ’10) and ‘Roar’ (#1 Aug. ’13).

#21: 5 Seconds Of Summer ‘Girls Talk Boys’ – The latest single from 5 Seconds Of Summer comes from the soundtrack to the new Ghostbusters film. Their first appearance on the chart since ‘Jet Black Heart’ (#34 Sept. ’15) gives the Sydney quartet their tenth top 50 single.

#39: Britney Spears Feat. G-Eazy ‘Make Me…’ – After hitting the chart last year with the Iggy Azalea collaboration ‘Pretty Girls’ (#27 Jun. ’14), Britney Spears returns with new single ‘Make Me…’. Featuring rapper G-Eazy, the track is expected to be on Spears’ forthcoming ninth album. It’s Spears’ 31st top 50 appearance as a lead artist.

#42: Snakehips Feat. Zayn ‘Cruel’ – Following on from their chart debut ‘All My Friends’ (#3 Jan. ’16), British electronic duo Snakehips pick up a second chart entry with the Zayn collaboration ‘Cruel’.
