Lionel Richie - Back To Front

American R&B star Lionel Richie scored his second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart when Back To Front spent six straight weeks at number one between June and August, 1992. The album compiles material from Richie’s first three studio albums – Lionel Richie (1982), Can’t Slow Down (#1 Jun. ’84) and Dancing On The Ceiling (#2 Oct. ’86) – including the #1 singles ‘All Night Long (All Night)’ (#1 Dec. ’83) and ‘Hello’ (#1 Jun. ’84). The album also features tracks recorded while Richie was a member of The Commodores, as well as three new tracks, including ‘Do It To Me’ (#45 Jun. ’92).

Back To Front spent a total of 11 weeks in the top ten and 17 weeks in the top 50. It was accredited 2x Platinum and was #6 in the 1992 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Lionel Richie last appeared on the ARIA Albums Chart with his tenth studio album Tuskegee (#2 Apr. ’12).

Richard Marx - Hazard

The second number one single on the ARIA Singles Chart for American singer-songwriter Richard Marx came when ‘Hazard’ spent three consecutive weeks in the top spot in July/August 1992. The second single released from Marx’s third album Rush Street (#11 Jul. ’92), ‘Hazard’ debuted at #43 in May 1992. It hit #1 for the first time in its tenth week in the top 50. ‘Hazard’ spent a total of 19 weeks in the top 50, including ten weeks in the top ten.

Receiving a Platinum accreditation, ‘Hazard’ was #10 on the ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart in 1992.

Richard Marx scored his first number one single when ‘Right Here Waiting’ (#1 Sept. ’89) spent five weeks at the peak. The album Repeat Offender (#1 Sept. ’89), also spent seven weeks on top of the ARIA Albums Chart.

Marx followed ‘Hazard’ with ‘Take This Heart’ (#11 Sept. ’92). He last charted in the top 50 with ‘Now & Forever’ (#16 Feb. ’94).
