Debuts from Ryan Adams, The Wiggles, Middle Kids & Future.

Queensland Duo Busby Marou has become the third Australian act to hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2017, debuting in the top spot with their second album ‘Postcards From The Shell House’ (see below).

Ed Sheeran’s ‘x’ moves back up the top 10 to #6 and the ‘Original Soundtrack to Sing’ also moves back into the top 10 to #5.

In its 180th week in the top 50, Adele’s ‘21’ returns to the top twenty at #17.

Midnight Oil’s ‘Essential Oils’ re-enters the top 50 at #31.

Debuts:

#1: Busby Marou ‘Postcards From The Shell House’ (Debut) – With their third studio album, Australian duo Busby Marou have scored their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. ‘Postcards From The Shell House’ is Bubsy Marou’s first album since Farewell Fitzroy (#5 Oct. ’13).

#3: Ryan Adams ‘Prisoner’ (Debut) – ‘Prisoner ‘is the sixteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams. The follow-up to 1989 (#9 Sept. ’15), ‘Prisoner’ is the singer’s sixth album to hit the ARIA top 50 and his third top ten.

#15: The Wiggles ‘Nursery Rhymes’ (Debut)  - The Wiggles pick up their highest ever peak on the Albums Chart with ‘Nursery Rhymes’. The compilation brings together 30 tracks performed by the current line-up of the group. Their previous peak was with another compilation, ‘The Best Of’ (#16 June ‘16). It’s the first Wiggles release to chart in 2017.

#26: Middle Kids ‘Middle Kids’ (Debut) – Sydney’s Middle Kids make their first ARIA Album Chart debut with their self-titled EP. The Sydney band is made up of Hannah Joy, Tim Fitz and newcomer Harry Day.

#42: Future ‘Future’ (Debut) – ‘FUTURE’ is the eponymous fifth studio album by American rapper Future and the second to debut on the Top 50 ARIA Albums Chart. His first appearance was in February of 2016 when ‘EVOL’ peaked at #20.

#43: Tania Kernaghan ‘All Australian Girl’ (Debut) – The seventh studio album by Australian country music singer ‘Tania Kernaghan’. This is Tania’s first ARIA Album Chart since ‘Dancing On Water’ peaked at #29 in March of 1999.
