Debuts for Jessica Mauboy, Marilyn Manson, Liam Gallagher and more!

At the top of this week’s ARIA Albums Chart, Triple J's Like A Version 13 has become the fifth consecutive release in the Like A Version series to debut at #1 (see below).

In its eighth week in the top 50, Post Malone’s debut album Stoney has climbed eight spots to enter the top ten for the first time at #10. Both ‘Congratulations’ (#30 Aug. ’17) and ‘I Fall Apart’ (#26 Oct. ‘17) feature on the album and are in this week’s Singles Chart.

Ahead of the likely debut on the Albums Chart next week, P!nk’s Greatest Hits...So Far!!! has jumped from #30 to #13 and previous album The Truth About Love has re-entered the top 50 at #41.

Debuts:

#1: Various ‘Triple J's Like A Version 13’ –The thirteenth installment of Triple J’s Like A Version series has become the fifth release in a row to debut at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album includes the likes of DMA’s covering Cher, Tash Sultana covering MGMT, A.B. Original covering Paul Kelly (with help from the man himself), Polish Club covering Flume, Amy Shark covering Silverchair and more. Like A Version to previously hit #1 have been Triple J's Like A Version 9 (#1 Oct. '13), Triple J's Like A Version 10 (#1 Oct. '14), Triple J's Like A Version 11 (#1 Oct. '15) and Triple J's Like A Version 12 (#1 Oct. ’16)

#2: Jessica Mauboy ‘The Secret Daughter Season Two (Songs From The Original 7 Series)’ – A year on from The Secret Daughter (Songs From The TV Series) (#1 Oct. ’16), Jessica Mauboy returns with The Secret Daughter Season Two (Songs From The Original 7 Series). As well as original single ‘Fallin'’ (#11 Jul. ’17), the album includes covers of tracks originally made famous by The Church, Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Lighthouse Family, Aretha Franklin, Goanna and more.

#4: Marilyn Manson ‘Heaven Upside Down’ – Marilyn Manson picks up a sixth top ten appearance with Heaven Upside Down. The American shock rocker’s tenth album comes just over two years on from The Pale Emperor (#6 Feb. ’15). Manson’s other top ten albums have been with Mechanical Animals (#1 Sept. ’98), Holy Wood (#8 Nov. ’00), Golden Age Of Grotesque (#5 May ’03) and Eat Me, Drink Me (#9 Jun. ’07).

#9: Liam Gallagher ‘As You Were’ – Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher steps back into the spotlight with solo debut As You Were. The album gives the Britpop legend his first appearance in the top 50 since previous band Beady Eye’s debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding (#18 Mar. ’11). It’s his first top ten album since Oasis’ final studio release Dig Out Your Soul (#5 Oct. ’08).

#15: Alex Lahey ‘I Love You Like A Brother’ – Melbourne singer-songwriter Alex Lahey hits the ARIA Charts for the first time with I Love You Like A Brother. Lahey’s debut album comes a year on from the EP B-Grade University. Lahey is a previous beneficiary of the Josh Pyke Partnership, receiving mentorship from the Sydney singer-songwriter.

#17: The Darkness ‘Pinewood Smile’ – British glam rockers The Darkness return with fifth album Pinewood Smile. The follow-up to Last Of Our Kind (#23 Jun. ’15) is the group’s third release since reuniting in 2011. It marks the first album to feature current drummer Rufus Tiger Taylor, son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor.

#45: Elvis Presley ‘Christmas With Elvis And The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ – The third album featuring the voice of Elvis Presley and music by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra hits the chart. The album follows previous releases If I Can Dream (#1 Nov. ’15), The Wonder Of You (#3 Nov. ’16) and the compilation The Wonder of You & If I Can Dream (#27 Jun. ’17).

#46: August Burns Red ‘Phantom Anthem’ – August Burns Red snare a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with Phantom Anthem. The American metalcore band’s eighth album is the follow-up to Found In Far Away Places (#43 Jul. ’15).
