Debuts for Nickelback, Royal Blood, Fleet Foxes and more!

There’s a new #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, with Lorde debuting in the top spot with second album Melodrama (see below).

With their national tour in support of the album up and running, Adam Harvey and Beccy Cole return to the top 50 this week at #23 with The Great Country Songbook Vol. II. The album debuted at #6 back in May.

Several soundtracks have made a move up the chart including Moana (up one to #15), Trolls (up three to #16), Sing (up four to #21), Suicide Squad: The Album (up seven to #31) and Beauty And The Beast (re-entry at #38).

Debuts:

#1: Lorde ‘Melodrama’ – Kiwi singer-songwriter Lorde returns to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, scoring her second debut in the top spot on the back of her second album, Melodrama. The follow-up to Pure Heroine (#1 Oct. ’13) features the tracks ‘Green Light’ (#4 Mar. ’17), ‘Liability’ (#42 Mar. ’17) and ‘Perfect Places’ (#44 Jun. ’17). Collaborators on the album include fun.’s Jack Antonoff, Sydney producer Flume and Air’s Jean-Benoît Dunckel. Pure Heroine returns to the top 50 this week at #26.

#3: Nickelback ‘Feed The Machine’ – With their ninth studio album, Feed The Machine, Canadian rock band Nickelback take out their eighth top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. It comes three years on from No Fixed Address (#3 Nov. ’14). They first hit the top ten with Silver Side Up (#5 Oct. ’01).

#4: Royal Blood ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ – After debuting at #3 in September 2014 with their self-titled debut album, British duo Royal Blood return with their second album, How Did We Get So Dark? The band’s debut earned them a BRIT Award for Best British Band in 2015.

#10: Fleet Foxes ‘Crack-Up’ – American indie folk band Fleet Foxes return with their first album in six years, Crack-Up. It’s the Seattle band’s third studio album and second to chart in the top 50, following on from Helplessness Blues (#6 May ’11).

#30: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit ‘The Nashville Sound’ – Album six from Jason Isbell gives the Americana singer-songwriter his second appearance in the ARIA top 50. The Nashville Sound comes two years on from Something More Than Free (#37 Jul. ’15) is Isbell’s third album to credit backing band The 400 unit.
