Taylor Swift's Reputation holds #1 for second week

Debuts for Sia, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Green Day and more!

Taylor Swift’s sixth studio album holds #1 for a second straight week on the ARIA Albums Chart. Worldwide, Reputation sold two million copies in its first week of release.

A week on from returning to the top ten, Michael Buble’s Christmas has climbed a further three spots to #4, giving the album hit a 34th week in the top five.

Following the live broadcast of his concert on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House, Paul Kelly’s former #1 album Life Is Fine jumps 16 spots to #8. Kelly’s best of collection Songs From The South Volume 1 & 2 re-enters the chart at #22.

The former #1 album from ARIA Hall Of Fame members John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John returns to the chart this week at #10 on the back of the issue of a deluxe edition. The new version of Friends For Christmas features three tracks not issued on the original. The album spent two weeks at #1 at the end of 2016.

A deluxe reissue of Tame Impala’s 2015 album Currents also returns the former #1 to the chart this week at #13.

On the back of her national tour, Lorde returns to the chart this week at #18 with Melodrama.

Climbing 20 spots, Chris Isaak’s Christmas this week scores a new peak at #26.

Following the passing of Malcolm Young, AC/DC’s Live returns to the top 50 at #47.

#7: Sia ‘Everyday Is Christmas’ – Sia scores her fourth top ten appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart with Everyday is Christmas. The Adelaide-born singer-songwriter’s first festive album features a set of all new compositions. Sia has previously hit the top ten with We Are Born (#2 Jun. ’10), 1000 Forms Of Fear (#1 Jul. ’14) and This Is Acting (#1 Feb. ’16).

#9: Tim McGraw & Faith Hill ‘The Rest Of Our Life’ – Husband and wife duo Tim McGraw & Faith Hill release their first collaborative album The Rest Of Our Life. The American country stars have both previously charted a number of times; McGraw last charted with Damn Country Music (#19 Nov. ’15) and was last in the top ten with Two Lanes Of Freedom (#10 Feb. ’13), Hill’s most recently chart appearance was with The Hits (#35 Apr. ’12), while she last hit the top ten with Cry (#10 Oct. ’02).

#16: Green Day ‘Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band’ – American punk band Green Day pick up their second top 50 entry with a compilation with Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band. The album comes 16 years on from the group’s first hits compilation International Superhits (#11 Nov. ’01). Green Day last charted with their twelfth studio album Revolution Radio (#2 Oct. ’16).

#17: Iron Maiden ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ – British metal legends Iron Maiden return to the chart with a new live album. Recorded during the band’s world tour in support of The Book Of Souls (#2 Sept. ’15), it featured one track recorded in Sydney in May 2016.

#29: Various ‘Spawn (Again): A Tribute To Silverchair’ – Some of Australia’s heaviest bands pay tribute to Silverchair on the album Spawn (Again): A Tribute To Silverchair. Performers include The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake, Northlane, Ocean Grove, Tonight Alive and more.

#31: Pierce Brothers ‘My Tired Mind’ – Melbourne folk duo the Pierce Brothers take out a fourth entry in the ARIA top 50 with My Tired Mind. The eight track EP comes six month on from the band’s second EP The Records Were Ours (#9 May ’17).
