Tina Arena - in deep

The second #1 album on the ARIA Charts for 2015 ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Tina Arena came when In Deep spent three weeks in the top spot in August/September 1997. Released as the follow-up to Don’t Ask (#1 Nov. ’95), In Deep debuted at #1 before dropping in the following two weeks. It returned to #1 for two more weeks in its fourth and fifth week in the Top 50. In total, In Deep spent ten weeks in the Top Ten and 45 weeks in the Top 50.

Singles released from In Deep include ‘Burn’ (#2 Jul. ’97), ‘If I Didn't Love You’ (#41 Nov. ’97), ‘Now I Can Dance’ (#13 May ’98) and ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ (#36 Sept. ’98). The album was accredited 3x Platinum and was #8 on the 1997 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Tina Arena next charted with the compilation Souvenirs (#37 Nov. ’00) and then the studio album Just Me (#7 Nov. ’01). She most recently appeared on the chart with Tina Arena (Greatest Hits / Interpretations) (#2 Apr. ’17).

Will Smith - Men In Black

American actor/rapper Will Smith took out his first solo #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Men In Black’ spent four weeks at #1 in September 1997. The theme tune of and first single released from the soundtrack to the film Men In Black (#4 Sept. ’97), it debuted at #7 and hit #1 for the first time in its fifth week in the Top 50. ‘Men In Black’ went on to spend 13 weeks in the Top Ten and 21 weeks in the Top 50.

‘Men In Black’ was also later included on Will Smith’s debut solo album Big Willie Style (#26 Feb. ‘98). The single was #6 on the 1997 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart and accredited 2x Platinum.

Will Smith scored his first #1 when the DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince single ‘Boom! Shake The Room’ topped the Singles Chart for one week in January 1994.

As a solo artist, Will Smith has scored five Top Ten entries on the ARIA Singles Chart, the last being his second #1 ‘Switch’ (#1 May ’05).
