Trolls soundtrack stays at #1

Debuts for Dropkick Murphys, You Me At Six and more!

The Trolls soundtrack holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second straight week. With the soundtracks to Sing and Moana sitting at #2 and #3, respectively, it marks the first time the ARIA Albums Chart top three has been entirely populated by soundtracks.

On the back of the announcement of a March release for his third album ÷  and debuts at #1 and #2 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Shape Of You’ & ‘Castle On The Hill’, respectively, Ed Sheeran gets a boost on the Albums Chart. X jumps from #45 to #9 and a return to the top ten for a 86th week. Lower down the chart, Sheeran’s debut album + re-enters the top 50 for a 163rd week at #32.

After scoring seven awards at this week’s Golden Globes, La La Land‘s soundtrack jumps up 18 spots to #13 in its second week in the top 50.

#15: Dropkick Murphys ‘11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory’ – Dropkick Murphys score a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory. It’s the American punk band’s ninth studio album and takes over from predecessor Signed And Sealed In Blood (#23 Jan. ’13) as their peak.

#20: You Me At Six ‘Night People’ – Album five from You Me At Six gives the English band a second top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Night People comes three years on from Cavalier Youth (#14 Feb. ’14).

#30: Halestorm ‘Reanimate 3.0: The Covers EP’ – American rockers Halestorm make their top 50 debut on the ARIA Charts. Reanimate 3.0: The Covers EP is the Pennsylvania quartet’s third EP of covers and includes their takes on tracks by Whitesnake, Joan Jett, Soundgarden and more.
