Childish Gambino jumps to #1 with This Is America

Debuts for Selena Gomez, Kyle, Hayden James and more!

A week on from debuting at #7, ‘This Is America’ jumps up six spots to become Childish Gambino’s first #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track recently hit #1 in the US, Canada and New Zealand; also his first #1 in those territories.

Cracking the Top Ten for the first time last week, 5 Seconds Of Summer’s ‘Youngblood’ moves up a further six spots to #3. It becomes the group’s second-highest chart peak along with ‘Don’t Stop’ (#3 Jun. ’14).

Moving up four spots to #9, ‘I Said Hi’ becomes Amy Shark’s second Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. It’s the track’s fifth week in the Top 50.

In its fourth week in the Top 50, ‘2002’ by Anne-Marie jumps up twelve spots to #12. It becomes the English artist’s third-highest charting track as lead artist.

Following her performance representing Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Jessica Mauboy’s ‘We Got Love’ re-enters the chart this week at #31 (a new peak).

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Kygo’s ‘Remind Me To Forget’ (#17), King Princess’ ‘1950’ (#32), Dennis Lloyd’s ‘Nevermind’ (#35) and Khalid x Ty Dolla $ign x 6lack’s ‘OTW’ (#37).

Debuts:

#15: Selena Gomez ‘Back To You’ – Selena Gomez picks up her first Singles Chart entry for 2018 with ‘Back To You’. The track features on the soundtrack to the second season of the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. In 2017, Gomez charted with ‘It Ain’t Me’ (#4 Mar. ’17), ‘Bad Liar’ (#13 May ’17), ‘Fetish’ (#23 Jul. ’17) and ‘Wolves’ (#5 Nov. ’17).

#41: Kyle Feat. Kehlani ‘Playinwitme’ – American rapper Kyle grabs a second Top 50 entry with the Kehlani-featured ‘Playinwitme’. The new track comes a year on from Kyle’s Singles Chart debut ‘iSpy’ (#33 May ’17).

#42: Hayden James Feat. Boy Matthews ‘Just Friends’ – Sydney producer Hayden James hits the Singles Chart for a second time in 2018 with ‘Just Friends’. In February, James peaked at #48 with ‘Numb’. The new track features vocals from Brit Boy Matthews.

#49: The Chainsmokers & Drew Love ‘Somebody’ – The third Singles Chart entry this year for American dance duo The Chainsmokers comes with ‘Somebody’. Featuring vocals by Drew Love of R&B duo THEY, it follows previous Chainsmokers tracks ‘Sick Boy’ (#37 Feb. ’18) and ‘Everybody Hates Me’ (#50 Mar. ’18).
