Debuts for Nicki Minaj, Trippie Redd, Gretta Ray and more!

After four weeks away from the top spot, Drake’s Scorpion returns to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a third week. His return to #1 on the Albums Chart comes in the same week the Canadian rapper’s ‘In My Feelings’ has slipped from the top of the Singles Chart.

As it hits its third week in the Top 50, Aled Jones’ third release in the One Voice series moves up 18 spots to claim a new peak at #19.

Gang Of Youths’ ARIA Album Of The Year-winning Go Father In Lightness jumps back up 22 to #26 in its 45th week in the Top 50.

George Ezra’s Staying At Tamara’s has re-entered the Top 50 this week at #45 as his ‘Shotgun’ hits a new peak at #11 on the Singles Chart.

Debuts:

#4: Nicki Minaj ‘Queen’ – Returning with her fourth studio album Nicki Minaj takes out a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. Queen comes four years on from the American rapper’s previous release, The Pinkprint (#19 Dec. ’14). The album features the singles ‘Barbie Tingz’ (#41 Apr. ’18) and ‘Bed’ (#18 Jun. ’18), as well as guest appearances from Ariana Grande, Eminem, The Weeknd, Foxy Brown, Lil Wayne and more. Minaj’s previous peak was with Pink Friday...Roman Reloaded (#5 Apr. ’12).

#14: Trippie Redd ‘Life's A Trip’ – The debut album from Trippie Redd becomes the American rapper’s first entry on the ARIA Charts. Life's A Trip features collaborations with Diplo, Travis Scott and Young Thug among others. Prior to the album, Redd had released two EPs and a handful of mixtapes.

#15: Elvis Presley ‘Where No One Stands Alone’ – Featuring newly-recorded instrumentation and backing vocals, tracks from Elvis Presley’s gospel catalogue get collected on Where No One Stands Alone. The bulk of the album’s vocal tracks are taken from the albums How Great Thou Art (1967) and He Touched Me (1972). The title track is a newly recorded duet with Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie. The album is the follow-up to the posthumous festive collection Christmas with Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (#7 Dec. ’17).

#39: Jason Mraz ‘Know’ – Jason Mraz returns with his first album in four years, Know. It’s the American singer-songwriter’s sixth studio al bum is his fourth to hit the ARIA Top 50 and first since Yes! (#17 Jul. ’14). Mraz snared his highest peak to date with We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. (#3 Sept. ’08).

#46: Gretta Ray ‘Here And Now’ – Gretta Ray makes her ARIA Albums Chart debut with Here And Now. The Melbourne singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Elsewhere, in 2016. In the same year she took out Triple J’s Unearthed High competition and won the Vanda And Young Songwritng Competition for her track ‘Drive’.
