Greatest Showman hits fifth week at #1

Moves for Gang Of Youths, Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar and more!

It’s week five at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman.

With four entries in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100, including three in the top ten, Sydney’s Gang Of Youths jump back up 24 spots on this week’s chart to #4 with former #1 and 2017 ARIA Awards Album Of The Year winner Go Farther In Lightness. It’s the album’s sixth week in the top ten. The band has also scored their first top 50 entry on the Singles Chart this week with ‘Let Me Down Easy’ hitting #49.

In the week they wrap up their Australian tour, American rockers Foo Fighters re-enter the top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart at #5 with Greatest Hits. Current studio album Concrete And Gold is up one spot this week to #14.

Topping the Triple J Hottest 100 with ‘Humble.’ (#2 Apr. ‘17), Kendrick Lamar is up ten spots to #13 on the Albums Chart with Damn. (#2 Apr. ’17). ‘Humble.’ has also experienced a boost, moving from #45 to #20 on the Singles Chart.

Following his six Grammy haul, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year, Bruno Mars is up eight spots to #17 with 24K Magic.

Scoring four Hottest 100 entries, Lorde is back up 12 spots to #22 with Melodrama.

Kicking off his national tour this week, American rapper Macklemore is up 16 spots to #27 with Gemini.

Sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone are up 15 spots to #30 with Snow. They had two Hottest 100 entries.

Debuts:

#10: Machine Head ‘Catharsis’ – American metal band Machine Head take out their third top ten om the ARIA Charts with Catharsis. The Californian group’s ninth studio album takes over from Unto The Locust (#10 Oct. ’11) and Bloodstones & Diamonds (#10 Nov. ’14) as their highest peak.

#28: Migos ‘Culture II’ – The third studio album from Migos gives the hip hop trio a second entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. The follow-up to Culture (#26 Feb. ’17), Culture II features collaborations with Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Drake, 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, Ty Dolla Sign, Post Malone, Pharrell Williams and more.

#43: Craig David ‘The Time Is Now’ – Craig David picks up a sixth top 50 entry with The Time Is Now. The British R&B artist’s seventh studio album comes just over a year on from Following My Intuition (#29 Oct. ’16) and includes contributions from Bastille, Jonas Blue, Kaytranada and more. David’s highest peak to date has been with Born To Do It (#2 Jan. ’01).
