Shotgun lands George Ezra fourth week at #1

Debuts for Halsey, Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Rita Ora and more!

English singer-songwriter George Ezra tops the ARIA Singles Chart for a fourth straight week with ‘Shotgun’. Ezra has just announced he’ll play a run of Australian dates in January/February 2019.

‘Happier’ by Marshmello and Bastille moves up one more spot to score a new peak at #4. It equals the previous Singles Chart peaks of both acts: Marshmello hit #4 in April of this year with his collaboration with Anne-Marie, ‘Friends’, while Bastille reached #4 in June 2013 with ‘Pompeii’

Lithuanian producer Dynoro jumps up six spots to #7 to hit the Top Ten for the first time with debut chart entry, ‘In My Mind’. It’s based on the 2012 track, also called ‘In My Mind’, released by Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl featuring Georgi Kay, which peaked at #29.

After hitting the Top Ten for the first time last week, Canadian house duo Loud Luxury climb up two more spots this week to reach a new peak at #8 with ‘Body’. The track has also been a Top Ten hit in Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

Moving up six spots to #17, The Chainsmokers’ ‘This Feeling’ cracks the Top 20 for the first time in its third week in the chart.

Notching up a fourth week in the chart, British songwriter Tom Walker moves up four and hits #20 with ‘Leave A Light On’.

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for DJ Snake’s ‘Taki Taki’ (#28), Kian’s ‘Waiting’ (#31) and Eminem’s ‘Venom’ (#37).

Debuts:

#11: Halsey ‘Without Me’ – American artist Halsey makes her first chart entry as a lead artist for 2018 with ‘Without Me’. The track is Halsey’s third to chart in the Top 50. She is also currently sitting at #2 as one of the featured artists on Benny Blanco’s ‘Eastside’.

#25: Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper ‘Shallow’ – As the soundtrack to A Star Is Born debuts at #3 this week on the Albums Chart, its first single hits the Singles Chart at #25. ‘Shallow’ features vocals by both of the film’s stars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It’ becomes Lady Gaga’s first Singles Chart entry since ‘The Cure’ (#10 May ’17).

#27: Rita Ora ‘Let You Love Me’ – Ahead of the release of second album Phoenix in November, Rita Ora enters the Top 50 with ‘Let You Love Me’. It’s the fifth track from the album to chart after ‘Your Song’ (#12 Jul. ’17), the collaboration with Avicii, ‘Lonely Together’ (#32 Nov. ’17), ‘Anywhere’ (#14 Dec. ’17) and the collaboration with Liam Payne, ‘For You (Fifty Shades Freed)’ (#15 Feb. ’18).

#41: Lauv ‘There’s No Way’ – A year on from scoring his first chart hit with ‘I Like Me Better’ (#8 Oct. ’17), American songwriter Lauv returns to the chart with ‘There’s No Way’. The track is a collaboration with fellow American songwriter Julia Michaels.

#46: Lukas Graham ‘Love Someone’ – Danish group Lukas Graham return to the ARIA Top 50 for the first time since 2016 with ‘Love Someone’. The first single from their forthcoming third album, 3 (The Purple Album), it becomes Lukas Graham’s third chart entry after ‘7 Years’ (#1 Feb. ’16) and ‘Mama Said’ (#42 Jun. ’16).

#48: Morgan Evans ‘Day Drunk’ – Australian country singer-songwriter Morgan Evans makes his first appearance in the Singles Chart Top 50 with ‘Day Drunk’. The track comes from Evans’ second album, Things That We Drink To, which was released on 12 October and could feature on next week’s Albums Chart.
