Lil Nas X notches up twelfth week at #1 with Old Town Road

Debuts for Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Jessica Mauboy and more!

American rapper Lil Nas X continues his dominance of the ARIA Singles Chart, holding the #1 spot for a twelfth week with ‘Old Town Road’. Two other tracks have spent 12 weeks at #1: Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ (#1 Dec. ’02) and Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ (#1 Jan. ’14). Only three singles have spent more time at #1: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ (13 weeks, 2017), Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ (13 weeks, 1995/95) and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ (15 weeks, 2017).
 
After hitting the Top Ten last week, Guy Sebastian’s ‘Choir’ moves up three spots this week to claim a new peak at #7. Its move comes on the back of Sebastian’s performance at Wednesday night’s State Of Origin.
 
Tones And I jumps up seven spots to #10 with ‘Dance Monkey’. The Melbourne artist’s second single is her first to appear in the Top Ten.
 
Viral hit ‘The Git Up’ continues its climb up the chart. In its fourth week in the Top 50, Blanco Brown’s debut chart entry has moved up six places to a new peak at #13.
 
There are also new peaks on this week’s chart for Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ (#18), Kygo & Whitney Houston’s ‘Higher Love’ (#25), The Chainsmokers & Bebe Rexha’s ‘Call You Mine’ (#26) and Marshmello’s ‘One Thing Right’ (#42)

#5: Post Malone Feat. Young Thug ‘Goodbyes’ – Post Malone picks up his eighth Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Goodbyes’. The American rapper’s first new chart entry since ‘Wow.’ (#2 Apr. ’19) features Young Thug. To mark the release, Post Malone is selling ‘Goodbyes’-themed pool floats and blankets.
 
#24: Ed Sheeran Feat. YEBBA ‘Best Part Of Me’ – Ahead of the release of his new album No.6 Collaborations Project, Ed Sheeran picks up another two entries on the chart from it. The highest debut comes from ‘Best Part Of Me’. The track feature American artist YEBBA, who has previously appeared on tracks with Sam Smith, Rudimental and Mark Ronson.
 
#40: Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton & Bruno Mars ‘Blow’ – The second new entry from Sheeran’s fourth album is the closing track from the new release. Collaborating with singer-songwriters Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars, the track finds all three venturing out of their usual styles and embracing hard rock. Mars produced the track as well as playing guitar, drums and synthesizer.
 
#41: Y2K & bbno$ ‘Lalala’ – Producer Y2K and Canadian rapper bbno$ make their ARIA Charts debut with ‘Lalala’. The track has already started to make moves up charts in the Us and Canada.
 
#46: Jessica Mauboy ‘Little Things’ – Jessica Mauboy scores her first Top 50 entry for 2019 with ‘Little Things’. The track is the second released from Mauboy’s forthcoming fourth studio album, Hilda (set for release in October). She last appeared in the Top 50 with her 2018 Eurovision Song Contest entry, ‘We Got Love’ (#31 May ’18).
 
#47: Illy ‘Then What’ – Melbourne hip hop artist Illy notches up his sixth entry in the ARIA Top 50 with ‘Then What’. The track is Illy’s first new release since 2017 and his first chart entry since ‘Catch 22’ (#11 Nov. ’16).
