Debuts for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, City and Colour, Summer Walker and more!

For the fifth straight week, Post Malone tops the ARIA Albums Chart with Hollywood’s Bleeding.
 
This week’s Top Ten sees returns for Elton John’s Diamonds (#9) and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (#10).
 
Previously debuting at #3 in May of this year, Tyler, The Creator’s sixth studio album returns to the Top 50 at #15. It comes on the back of the release of Igor on CD and vinyl. As a result, it’s #1 on this week’s Vinyl Albums Chart.
 
With new single, ‘Highest In The Room’, debuting at #3 this week, Travis Scott moves up ten spots to #25 with previous album, Astroworld.
 
As she continues to claim new peaks on the Singles Chart, American artist Lizzo returns to the Albums Chart this week, claiming a new peak at #30 with Cuz I Love You.

#7: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ‘Ghosteen’ – ARIA Hall Of Fame member Nick Cave and his band, The Bad Seeds, take out their twelfth Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart with Ghosteen. The group’s 17th studio album is a double album and follows on from their #1s: Skeleton Tree (#1 Sept. ’16) and Push The Sky Away (#1 Feb. ’13). Between studio releases, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds released the career-spanning compilation Lovely Creatures - The Best of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds (1984 - 2014) (#8 Feb. ’17).
 
#8: City and Colour ‘A Pill For Loneliness’ – City and Colour return with A Pill For Loneliness, their sixth album. It’s the first album in four years by the Canadian act lead by Dallas Green and becomes their fourth Top Ten in Australia, having previously charted with If I Should Go Before You (#5 Oct. ’15), The Hurry And The Harm (#4 Jun. ’13) and Little Hell (#2 Jun. ’11).
 
#17: Summer Walker ‘Over It’ – American Summer Walker makes her first appearance in the ARIA Top 50 with Over It. The R&B singer-songwriter’s debut album features collaborations with Usher, Drake, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and more.
 
#22: The Darkness ‘Easter Is Cancelled’ – The Darkness release their sixth album, Easter Is Cancelled. The follow-up to Pinewood Smile (#17 Oct. ’17) is the fourth album released by flamboyant British rockers since they reunited in 2011 and the third to feature drummer Rufus Tiger Taylor, son of Queen’s Roger Taylor.
 
#23: Wilco ‘Ode To Joy’ – American indie veterans Wilco return with eleventh album, Ode To Joy. Coming three years on from Schmilco (#16 Sept. ’16), it’s their seventh album to land in the ARIA Top 50 in their 25-year career.
 
#27: Angel Olsen ‘All Mirrors’ – Releasing her fourth album, All Mirrors, American indie singer-songwriter Angel Olsen takes out her second ARIA Top 50 entry. The album is the follow-up to Olsen’s breakthrough release, My Woman (#29 Sept. ’16).
 
#37: Dermot Kennedy ‘Without Fear’ – Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy hits the chart with debut album, Without Fear. Kennedy had scored a number of chart hits in his homeland in the last two years, including two Top Ten singles. He released his debut EP in January 2019.
 
#41: We Lost The Sea ‘Triumph & Disaster’ – Sydney instrumental post-metal band We Lost the Sea make their ARIA Albums Chart debut with Triumph & Disaster. Their fourth studio album comes four years on from previous release, 2015’s Departure Songs. In 2018, the band undertook a ten-show tour of China.
 
#42: Maundz ‘True North’ – Releasing third album, True North, hip hop artist Maundz scores his second Top 50 entry. Coming four years on from Nobody's Business (#36 Sept. ’15), it features Trials, Remi, Hau Latukefu and more.
