Debuts for Archie Roach, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Miranda Lambert and more!

Kanye West holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second week with Jesus Is King. The album becomes the first by West to spend more than one week at #1 in Australia.
 
Currently touring Australia, Shawn Mendes jumps up five spots to #8 with his self-titled third album. The album has now spent ten weeks in the Top Ten since it debuted at #1 in June 2018.
 
Nominated for ARIA Album Of The Year, Dean Lewis’ former #1, A Place We Knew, climbs up seven spots to #14 in its 33rd week in the Top 50.
 
Following the release of new single ‘Don’t Start Now’ and the news that she’ll be performing at this year’s ARIAs, Dua Lipa has jumped eight spots to #24 with her self-titled debut album.
 
As we head closer towards the end of the year, Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas makes its return to chart at #36.
 
The Teskey Brothers return to the Top 50 at #42 with their ARIA-nominated album Run Home Slow, on the back of their national tour.

#7: Archie Roach ‘Tell Me Why’ – Archie Roach makes his maiden appearance in the Top Ten with Tell Me Why. The collection is a companion piece to his memoir of the same name featuring a mix of re-recordings, covers and new tracks. This is Roach’s third album to land on the ARIA Top 50 Chart, following Let Love Rule (#24 Nov. ‘16) and Into The Bloodstream (#49 Oct. ‘12).
 
#12: Jeff Lynne’s ELO ‘From Out Of Nowhere’ – From Out Of Nowhere is the 14th studio album in the Electric Light Orchestra canon, and while it’s the third album of new material since the group originally disbanded in 1986, it’s only the second credited to the moniker Jeff Lynne’s ELO, following Alone In The Universe (#15 Nov. ‘15).
 
#19: Miranda Lambert ‘Wildcard’ – US country superstar Miranda Lambert scores her third ARIA Top 50 album with Wildcard, following The Weight Of These Wings (#26 Nov. ‘16) and Platinum (#8 Jun. ‘14). The singer has co-writing credits on all 14 tracks on the new album, which is her first to be produced by prolific country and rock producer Jay Joyce, and features a duet with Maren Morris.
 
#21 Bob Dylan ‘Travelin' Thru, 1967-1969: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 15’ – All but two volumes in Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series have entered the ARIA Top 50 Chart, beginning with Volumes 1-3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961-1991 (#46 Apr. ‘91). Volume 15 features recordings Dylan made for his albums John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline, and songs recorded for appearances on The Johnny Cash Show with the country icon, plus sessions with bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs.
 
#39 Michael Kiwanuka ‘Kiwanuka’ – Michael Kiwanuka enters the ARIA Top 50 Chart with his third studio album, Kiwanuka. This makes it the second Top 50 entry for the English singer-songwriter, on the heels of previous album Love & Hate (#30 Jul. ‘16).
 
#50 The Seekers ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ – ARIA Hall Of Fame members The Seekers return to the Top 50 Albums Chart with a reissue of their festive collection Morningtown Ride To Christmas (#18 Nov. '01). The new issue includes a version of the title track alongside the 15 tracks from the original album.
