Janet Jackson- Rhythm Nation 1814

Janet Jackson first hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart when Rhythm Nation 1814 held the top spot for four weeks in February/March 1991. Jackson’s fourth studio album first hit the Australian charts in October 1989, when it debuted at #31. It didn’t hit #1 until its 28th week in the Top 50. Rhythm Nation 1814 would go on to spend twelve weeks in the Top Ten and 43 weeks in the Top 50.

The album was #13 on the 1991 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart and was accredited 2x Platinum.

Singles released from Rhythm Nation 1814 included ‘Miss You So Much’ (#12 Oct. ’89), ‘Escapade’ (#25 May ’90), ‘Black Cat’ (#6 Nov. ’90) and ‘Love Will Never Do (Without You)’ (#14 Feb. ’91).

Janet Jackson would again hit #1 on the Albums Chart with Janet. (#1 Jun. ’93). Her most recent chart appearance was with Unbreakable (#11 Oct. ’15).

Londonbeat  I've Been Thinking ABout You

British dance group Londonbeat took out their only #1 on the ARIA Charts when ‘I've Been Thinking About You’ topped the Singles Chart for four straight weeks in February/March 1991. Taken from the group’s second album, In The Blood (#12 Mar. ’91), the single debuted at #43 in January, before taking out the #1 spot in its sixth week in the chart.

Reaching Platinum status, ‘I've Been Thinking About You’ was #8 on the 1991 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.

Londonbeat next charted with ‘A Better Love’ (#25 Apr. ’91). Their third and final Top 50 appearance was with ‘Come Back’ (#14 Apr. ’95).
