Tones And I's Dance Monkey hits 12 weeks at #1

‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones And I holds #1 for a twelfth consecutive week. Two other tracks have also held the top spot for that long: Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ (2014) and Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself (2002/03). This week, ‘Dance Monkey’ became the first single by an Australian artist to top Spotify’s Global Chart. Tones And I will have to spend 15 weeks at #1 to equal Ed Sheeran’s 2017 record for most weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Tones And I’s ‘Never Seen The Rain’ returns to #21, the peak it previously held in August.
 
After hitting the Top Ten for the first time last week, Maroon 5’s ‘Memories’ climbs up four spots to hit #3. It’s the American band’s sixth Top Three single in Australia; their first was with ‘She Will Be Loved’ (#1 Sept. ’04).
 
Regard’s remix of Jay Sean’s ‘Ride It’ continues to blaze its way up the chart. After hitting #11 last week, it’s up five spots this week to hit the Top Ten at #6.
 
In its fifth week in the Top 50, ‘Hot Girl Bummer’ by blackbear hits the Top Ten for the first time at #10. The American singer-songwriter also known as Matthew Musto has collaborated with a plethora of artists including Justin Bieber, G-Eazy, Machine Gun Kelly, Rick Ross, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Childish Gambino and more.
 
14 weeks into its run in the Top 50, Ed Sheeran’s ‘South Of The Border’ moves up five spots to hit a new peak at #13, one spot above the peak it reached in July.
 
Flume’s ‘Rushing Back’ moves up two spots to #19, claiming a new peak in the process.
 
Following the announcement that she’ll be performing at the 2019 ARIA Awards Halsey jumps up five spots to #26 with new single ‘Graveyard’.
 
This week’s Singles Chart also includes new peaks for Camila Cabello’s ‘Liar’ (#31), Freya Ridings’ ‘Castles’ (#36) and Diplo & Jones Brothers’ ‘Lonely’ (#44).

#7: Harry Styles ‘Lights Up’ Former One Direction member Harry Styles returns to the ARIA Singles Chart this week with ‘Lights Up’. The track is Styles’ first Top Ten single since his debut solo effort ‘Sign Of The Times’ peaked at #1 in April 2017 and is the first single from his forthcoming second solo album. ‘Lights Up’ becomes Styles’ third entry into the Singles Chart, following ‘Sweet Creature’ (#39 May ’17). Styles was awarded Best International Artist at the 2017 ARIA Awards.
