Debuts for Five Finger Death Punch, Slowly Slowly, Lil Baby and more!

BTS back up their debut at #1 with a second week in the top spot for Map Of The Soul: 7. Since topping the ARIA Albums Chart last week, the album has hit #1 in over a dozen countries including the US, UK and New Zealand. That’s one week more than the Korean superstars’ first Australian #1 Map Of The Soul: Persona, which spent one week at #1.

Following the release of Frozen 2 on DVD, the film’s soundtrack moves up from #20 to #13.

Doja Cat’s Hot Pink continues its move up the chart; this week it’s up five to a new peak at #24.

Debuts:

#2: Five Finger Death Punch ‘F8’ – American metal band Five Finger Death Punch score their highest peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with F8. The eighth album from the five-piece comes two years on from And Justice For None (#4 May ’18). Five Finger Death Punch’s previous highest peak was with Got Your Six (#3 Sept. ’15). F8 is the band’s first album to feature new drummer Charlie Engen.

#7: Slowly Slowly ‘Race Car Blues’ – Slowly Slowly make their ARIA Top 50 debut with Race Car Blues. It’s the Melbourne pop punk band’s third studio album, coming two years on from St. Leonards, which peaked at #77 in May 2018. The Race Car Blues track ‘Jellyfish’ was #57 in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100.

#20: Lil Baby ‘My Turn’ – Releasing his second album, My Turn, American rapper Lil Baby scores his first solo Top 50 entry. The Atlanta-based artist released his first solo album, Harder Than Ever, in May 2018. In October 2018 he teamed up with Gunna for the mixtape Drip Harder (#45 Oct. ’18). My Turn also includes work with Gunna, as well as Future, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and more.

#23: James Taylor ‘American Standard’ – Veteran singer-songwriter James Taylor releases his 20th studio album American Standard. The follow-up to Before This World (#12 Jun. ’15) finds Taylor taking on tracks from the Great American Songbook including ‘Moon River’, ‘The Nearness Of You’, ‘Pennies From Heaven’ and ‘Ol’ Man River’. Before This World was Taylor’s first #1 album in the US.

#35: Caribou ‘Suddenly’ – Canadian artist Dan Snaith returns with Suddenly. It’s his fifth album under the Caribou moniker and the first in six years, having made his Top 50 debut with Our Love (#26 Oct. ’14). Between Caribou albums Snaith put out several releases as Daphni.

#47: Saviour ‘A Lunar Rose’ – Perth’s Saviour pick up their first appearance in the ARIA Top 50 since 2013 with A Lunar Rose. The band’s fourth album is the follow-up to 2017’s Let Me Leave. They previously charted with First Light To My Death Bed (#38 Oct. ’13).
