Blinding Lights gives The Weeknd fifth week at #1

Debuts by Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith and more!

Canadian artist The Weeknd maintains his hold of the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fifth week with ‘Blinding Lights’. This week The Weeknd announced that his forthcoming fourth album ‘After Hours’ will be released on 20 March.
 
With the release of new album Changes (debuting at #2), Justin Bieber also gets a boost on the Singles Chart. ‘Intentions’ has jumped ten spots to #3 in its second week on the chart. Previous single ‘Yummy’ has also moved back into the Top Ten at #8. A new single, ‘Forever’ has debuted at #29.
 
Doja Cat continues to creep up the chart with ‘Say So’ The single is up six this week to a new peak at #28.
 
In its second week in the Top 50 Ali Gatie’s ‘What If I Told You That I Love You’ has a new peak at #46.

#4: Billie EiIish ‘No Time To Die’ – Billie Eilish picks up her ninth Top Ten single on the ARIA Charts with ‘No Time To Die’. It is the title theme to the upcoming James Bond film, which will hit cinemas in April. It is the highest ever charting position for a James Bond theme song in ARIA history. ‘No Time To Die’ narrowly beats previous Bond hits ‘Skyfall’ by Adele (#5 Oct. ’12), ‘Die Another Day’ by Madonna (#5 Nov. ’02) and ‘A View To A Kill’ by Duran Duran (#6 Jul. ‘85). She recently performed the song with composer Hans Zimmer and guitarist Johnny Marr at the Brit Awards.
 
#29: Justin Bieber Feat. Post Malone & Clever ‘Forever’ – On the back of the release of Changes, Justin Bieber hits the Singles Chart with ‘Forever’. Featuring contributions from American rappers Post Malone and Clever, it’s the third single from the album to enter the Top 50 after ‘Yummy’ (#4 Jan. 20) and ‘Intentions’ (#3 Feb. ’20).
 
#32: Sam Smith ‘To Die For’ – Sam Smith releases ‘To Die For’, the title track to the British artist’s forthcoming third album. It’s the fourth single from To Die For after ‘Promises’ (#4 Sept. ’18), ‘Dancing With A Stranger’ (#6 Mar. ’19) and ‘How Do You Sleep?’ (#10 Oct. ’19). The album is set for release on 1 May.
 
#36: Surfaces ‘Sunday Best’ – Texan duo Surfaces make their Top 50 debut with ‘Sunday Best’. First released in early-2019, the track has received a boost thanks to social media site TikTok. The pair – Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki – released their second album, Where The Light Is, in 2019.
 
#41: SAINt JHN ‘Roses’ – American rapper SAINt JHN makes his Top 50 debut with the single ‘Roses’. Originally released in 2016, the single has gained greater traction thanks to a remix by Kazakh producer Imanbek. To date, it has peaked at #8 in the UK.
 
#45: Conan Gray ‘Maniac’ – ‘Maniac’ gives American singer-songwriter Conan Gray his first entry in the ARIA Top 50. The single comes from Gray’s forthcoming debut album, Kid Krow, which will be released on 20 March.
