Blinding Lights lands The Weeknd seven weeks at #1

Debuts by Lady Gaga, Powfu, SZA and more!

The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ sits at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a seventh straight week. He also appears in the chart with ‘After Hours’, the title track to the Canadian’s forthcoming fourth album, which is at #37 in its second week in the Top 50.
 
In its sixth week in the Top 50, Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ is the week’s biggest mover, climbing 13 spots to #8. It comes on the back of the release of the single’s music video. As well as being the first Top Ten entry in Australia for the American rapper, it’s also hit the Top Ten in Canada and New Zealand.
 
Surfaces’ ‘Sunday Best’ climbs ten to a new peak at #20.
 
Also appearing at the Mardi Gras Party, Sam Smith has hit a new peak at #25 with ‘To Die For’. Smith surprised spectators by marching up Sydney’s Oxford St alongside members of the LGBTIQ+ Youth Network as part of their Mardi Gras float.
 
There are new peaks also this week for SAINt JHN’s ‘Roses’ (#30) and Lil Mosey’s ‘Blueberry Faygo’ (#34).

#7: Lady Gaga ‘Stupid Love’ – American star Lady Gaga takes out her first new entry on the Singles Chart in over a year with ‘Stupid Love’. It’s the first track to be released from her upcoming sixth studio album, Chromatica, which is set for release on 10 April. ‘Stupid Love’ becomes Lady Gaga’s 13th Top Ten single in Australia and the first since the multi-award-winning ‘Shallow’ (#1 Oct. ’18). She first hit the Top Ten with ‘Just Dance’ (#1 Sept. ’08).
 
#32: Powfu ‘Death Bed’ – Canadian hip hop artist Powfu makes his chart debut with ‘Death Bed’. Even before its official release, the track was a viral sensation, being streamed over 5 million times on SoundCloud and over 24 million views on YouTube. Since its official release in mid-February it has taken off on social media platform TikTok.
 
#43: SZA, Justin Timberlake ‘The Other Side’ – SZA and Justin Timberlake team up on ‘The Other Side’. It’s the first single released from the soundtrack to Trolls World Tour, hitting theatres on 26 March. Timberlake, who plays Branch in the animated comedy, contributed ‘Can't Stop The Feeling!’ (#3 Jun. ’16) to the soundtrack of the first Trolls movie (#1 Jan. ’17).
 
#44: Ashe ‘Moral Of The Story’ – Californian singer-songwriter makes her Top 50 debut with ‘Moral Of The Story’. Co-written and coproduced by Billie Eilish’s brother and frequent collaborator Finneas, the song has gained attention thanks to its use in the Netflix film To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.
 
#50: 24KGOLDN ‘City Of Angels’ – 19 year old American rapper 24KGOLDN hits the ARIA Charts for the first time with ‘City Of Angels’. So far the single has also charted in the UK and Canada.
