Green Day claim third #1 album

Moves by Michael Bublé, Queen and more!

Returning with their first album in four years, Father Of All…, American punks Green Day have earned their third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and first in over a decade. Their greatest hits collection God’s Favorite Band has also re-entered the chart at #44.

On the back of his current Australian tour, Michael Bublé returns to the chart at #4 with his latest album Love. The Canadian’s tenth album debuted at #2 back in November 2018. In December 2019, Bublé spent one week at #1 with perennial favourite Christmas.

In the week Queen + Adam Lambert kicked off their national tour, the soundtrack to the legendary band’s biopic Bohemian Rhapsody storms back up the chart 21 places to #15. It previously spent four weeks at #1 in January 2019.

With the track ‘Say So’ scoring a new Singles Chart Peak, Doja Cat’s Hot Pink moves up ten spots to #35. The album previously peaked at #30.

Debuts:

#1: Green Day ‘Father Of All...’ – American punk veterans Green Day return to take out their third #1 album on the ARIA Charts. Father Of All... is the trio’s 13th studio album and comes four years on from Revolution Radio (#2 Oct. ’16). It’s Green Day’s shortest ever album, clocking in at 26 minutes and 12 seconds. The band have also hit #1 in Australia with Dookie (#1 Mar. ’95) and American Idiot (#1 Sept. ’04). They’ll be touring nationally in November on a triple bill alongside Weezer and Fall Out Boy. Father Of All... also tops this week’s Vinyl Albums Chart.

#9: Soundtrack ‘Birds Of Prey: The Album’ – The soundtrack to Birds Of Prey makes its Top 50 debut. Part of the DC Extended Universe, the film features Australian Margot Robbie in the lead role of Harley Quinn, the same role she performed in Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad soundtrack spent one week at #1 in August 2016. The soundtrack features tracks by Doja Cat, Halsey, Sofi Tukker and more.

#33: Denzel Curry, Kenny Beats ‘Unlocked’ – Rapper Denzel Curry teams up with producer/songwriter Kenny Beats for the EP Unlocked. It’s the third release by Curry to hit the Top 50 after TA13OO (#27 Aug. ’18) and ZUU (#18 Jun. ’19). It’s Beats’ first chart entry under his own name. He has previously worked with the likes of FKA Twigs, Ed Sheeran, Vince Staples and ScHoolboy Q.
