Ten weeks at #1 for The Weeknd's Blinding Lights

Moves for SAINt JHN, Powfu, Benee and more!

The Weeknd makes it ten weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Blinding Lights’. The week the single hits double figures at #1 coincides with its parent album, After Hours, debuting at #1 on the Albums Chart. The last artist to have the #1s on both charts in the same week was Billie Eilish, who spent two consecutive weeks at #1 in April 2019 with the single ‘Bad Guy’ and the album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

The Weeknd also grabs a new entry this week at #13 with ‘In Your Eyes’. After Hours’ title track has jumped 31 spots to #17, while ‘Heartless’ has re-entered the Top 50 at #38.

For the second straight week SAINt JHN’s ‘Roses’ moves up five spots on the Singles Chart; this week it hits #2. The single is currently #1 in the UK.

‘Death Bed’ by Canadian artist Powfu jumps up six spots to #7, hitting the Top Ten for the first time in its fourth week in the chart.

A week on from cracking the Top Ten, Benee’s ‘Supalonely’ moves up one to claim a new peak at #9.

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Surfaces’ ‘Sunday Best’ (#12), Tones And I’s ‘Bad Child’ (#16), Lil Mosey’s ‘Blueberry Faygo’ (#20), Endor’s ‘Pump It Up’ (#26), The Rubens’ ‘Live In Life’ (#27), Conan Gray’s ‘Maniac’ (#28) and 24KGOLN’s ‘City Of Angels’ (#30).

Following his passing at the age of 81, American country music legend Kenny Rogers returns to the Singles Chart with ‘The Gambler’. Rogers’ signature solo song peaked at #25 in Australia in April 1979. It was one of his 21 #1s on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart in the US.

Debuts:

#13: The Weeknd ‘In Your Eyes’ – On the back of his #1 album, The Weeknd picks up another Top 50 entry with ‘In Your Eyes’. It’s the fourth Top 50 entry from After Hours after ‘Heartless’ (#10 Dec. ’19), ‘Blinding Lights’ (#1 Jan. ’20) and the album’s title track (#11 Mar. ’20).

#47: DripReport ‘Skechers’ – Indian trap artist DripReport hits the ARIA Top 50 for the first time with ‘Skechers’. The song has become a viral sensation on TikTok with over 1 million videos on the social media site using the song. The track has also had over 20 million views to date on YouTube.
