John Farnham - Chain Reaction

John Farnham’s third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart came when Chain Reaction spent five weeks in the top spot in late-1990. The follow-up to Age Of Reason (#1 Jul. ’88) debuted at #1 and remained there the following week. After two weeks at #2, the album returned to #1 for a further three weeks. Chain Reaction spent a total of 19 weeks in the top ten and 38 weeks in the top 50..

The album featured the singles ‘Chain Reaction’ (#6 Aug. ’90), ‘That's Freedom’ (#6 Oct. 90), ‘Burn For You’ (#5 Dec. ’90) and ‘In Days To Come’ (#49 Apr. ’91). It has been accredited 7x Platinum and was #1 on the ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart in 1990.

John Farnham has also topped the ARIA Albums Chart with Whispering Jack (#1 Nov. ’86), Age Of Reason (#1 Jul. ’88), Then Again… (#1 Nov. ‘93), Anthology 1 (#1 Oct. ‘97), 33 1/3 (#1 Aug. ‘00), The Last Time (#1 Dec. ‘02) and the live albums Highlights From The Main Event (with Anthony Warlow & Olivia Newton-John) (#1 Dec. ‘98) and Two Strong Hearts Live (with Olivia Newton-John) (#1 Jul. ’15).

John Farnham was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2003.


Skyhooks - Jukebox In SIberia

ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees Skyhooks spent two weeks at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart in November 1990 with their single ‘Jukebox In Siberia’. The track was one of two new tracks recorded for the compilation The Latest And Greatest (#4 Nov. ’90). It was Skyhooks’ first new release in eight years and the first studio recording to feature the band’s classic line-up since 1976.

The track debuted at #14 in October before reaching the top of the chart in its fourth week. It spent a total of eight weeks in the top ten and 15 weeks in the top 50, receiving a Gold accreditation. The follow-up single, ‘Tall Timber’, peaked at #66 in December 1990.

Skyhooks were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 1992.
