Savage Garden - Affirmation

Affirmation by Savage Garden spent six non-consecutive weeks at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart during November 1999 and July 2000. It was the follow-up to the Brisbane duo’s self-titled debut album (#1 Jun. ’97), which spent 19 weeks at #1. On release, Affirmation spent three straight weeks at #1. It returned to the top for one week in December ’99 and a week each on April ’00 and July ’00.

Five singles from Affirmation charted in the top 50: ‘The Animal Song’ (#3 Mar. ’99), ‘I Knew I Loved You’ (#4 Oct. ’99), ‘Affirmation’ (#16 Feb. ’00), ‘Crash And Burn’ (#16 May ’00) and ‘Chained To You’ (#21 Oct. ’00).

Affirmation spent 50 weeks in the top ten. It was #4 on the ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart in 2000 and was accredited 8x Platinum.

Savage Garden announced their split in 2002. They have since charted with the compilations Truly Madly Completely - The Best Of Savage Garden (#11 Dec. ’05) and The Singles (#15 Jun. ’15).


Destiny's Child - Say My Name

Destiny’s Child’s only #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart came when ‘Say My Name’ spent four straight weeks in the top spot in May 2000. Taken from the group’s second album The Writing's On The Wall (#2 May ’00), the single debuted at #48 in February ’00 and reached #1 for the first time in its eleventh week in the top 50. In total, ‘Say My Name’ spent nine weeks in the top ten and 23 weeks in the top 50.

Accredited 2x Platinum, ‘Say My Name’ was #5 on the 2000 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.

Destiny’s Child scored nine top tens on the ARIA Singles Chart during their career. They last charted with the single ‘Cater 2 U’ (#15 Aug. ’05). The group split in 2006.
