Powderfinger - Vulture Street

The third of Powderfinger’s five #1 albums on the ARIA Charts came when their fifth studio album spent three straight weeks in the top spot in July 2003. The follow-up to Odyssey Number Five (#1 Sept. ’00), Vulture Street spent a total of 30 consecutive weeks in the top ten and 47 weeks in the top 50.

Singles taken from Vulture Street include ‘(Baby I've Got You) On My Mind’ (#9 Jun. ’03), ‘Love Your Way’ (#37 Sept. ’03) and ‘Sunsets’ (#11 Jan. ’04).

Vulture Street was certified 6x Platinum and was #4 in the End Of Year Albums Chart for 2003. The album earned Powderfinger four gongs at the 2003 ARIA Awards, including Album Of The Year.

Powderfinger also achieved #1 albums with Internationalist (#1 Sept. ’98), Dream Days At The Hotel Existence (#1 Jun. ’07) and Golden Rule (#1 Nov. ’09). They split in 2010.


R. KElly - Ignition (Remix)

American R&B star R. Kelly’s only #1 to date on the ARIA Singles Chart came when Ignition (Remix) sat at the top of the Chart for six weeks during July and August, 2003. Lifted from Kelly’s fifth studio album Chocolate Factory (#31 Jul. ’07), ‘Ignition (Remix)’ features elements of another track called ‘Ignition’, which appears immediately before it in the album’s track listing. The track came straight into the top 50 at #1 and spent a total of ten weeks in the top 10 and 14 weeks in the top 50.

It appeared at #10 in the 2003 End Of Year Singles Chart and has been certified Platinum.

Throughout his career, R. Kelly’s also charted with the tracks ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ (#24 Feb. ’97), ‘Thoia Thoing’ (#16 Nov. ’03) and ‘Same Girl’ (#47 Sept. ’07).
