Michael Jackson - Dangerous

Michael Jackson scored the second of his five #1 albums on the ARIA Charts when Dangerous spent seven consecutive weeks in the top spot in late-1991/early-1992. Jackson’s eighth solo album debuted at #2 before hitting #1 for the first time in its second week on the chart. Dangerous has spent, in total, 19 weeks in the top ten and 85 weeks in the top 50.

Singles released from Dangerous include ‘Black Of White’ (#1 Nov. ’91), ‘Remember The Time’ (#6 Mar. ’92), ‘In The Closet’ (#5 May ’92), ‘Jam’ (#11 Jul. ’92), ‘Who Is It’ (#34 Sept. ’92), ‘Give In To Me’ (#4 Apr. ’93) and ‘Heal The World’ (#20 Apr. ’93).

Dangerous has been accredited 10x Platinum. It was #19 on the 1992 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Michael Jackson held the #1 spot on the first ever ARIA Albums Chart with Thriller (#1 Jul. ’83). He later topped the Albums Chart with HIStory: Past, Present And Future - Book 1 (#1 Jun. ’95), Invincible (#1 Nov. ’11) and Essential Michael Jackson (#1 Jul. ’09).


Michael Jackson - Black Or White

The only #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for Michael Jackson came when ‘Black Or White’ spent eight straight weeks at #1 in December 1991 and January 1992. The first single to come from Dangerous (see above), the track was Jackson’s first single in two years. It debuted at #5 in November and hit #1 for the first time in its third week in the top 50. ‘Black Or White’ spent a total of 15 weeks in the top ten and 24 weeks in the top 50.

Hitting #34 on the  1992 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart, ‘Black Or White’ was accredited 2x Platinum.

Michael Jackson last appeared in the ARIA top 50 with ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ (#28 May ’14).
