Soundtrack - The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert

The soundtrack to Academy Award-winning Australian comedy The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert spent four consecutive weeks at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart during September/October 1994. Featuring predominately disco and pop tracks from the 1970s, the album debuted at #6 before hitting #1 for the first time in its second week in the top 50. It went on to spend a total of 13 weeks in the top ten and 28 weeks in the top 50.

Written and directed by Stephan Elliott, the film and its soundtrack featured a host of disco-laced tracks including ‘Mamma Mia’ by ABBA, ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor and ‘Go West’ by The Village People. A remix made especial for the film of ‘I Love the Nightlife (Disco 'Round)’ by Alicia Bridges peaked at #11 on the ARIA Singles Chart in November 1994.

The soundtrack to The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was accredited 4x Platinum. It was #4 on the 1994 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Kylie Minogue - COnfide In Me

2011 ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Kylie Minogue picked up the fourth of her ten #1s on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Confide In Me’ claimed the top spot for four weeks in late-1994. Released as the first single from Minogue’s self-titled fifth album (#3 Oct. ’94), the track debuted at #31 on the Singles Chart before hitting #1 the following week. It spent a total of nine weeks in the top ten.

‘Confide in Me’ was Minogue’s eleventh top three single in the UK, peaking at #2. The single was #22 on the 1994 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart and accredited Platinum.

Kylie Minogue has also hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Locomotion’ (#1 Aug. ‘87), ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ (#1 Mar. ‘88), ‘Got To Be Certain’ (#1 Jul. ‘88), ‘Spinning Around’ (#1 Jun. ‘00), ‘On A Night Like This’ (#1 Sept. ‘00), ‘Can't Get You Out Of My Head’ (#1 Sept. ‘01), ‘In Your Eyes’ (#1 Jan. ‘02), ‘Slow’ (#1 Nov. ‘03) and ‘2 Hearts’ (#1 Nov. ‘07).

She last hit the top 50 with ‘Into The Blue’ (#46 Feb. ’14).
