The single debuted at #50 and hit #1 for the first time in its fourth week in the top 50. In total, the single spent 14 weeks in the top ten and 36 weeks in the top 50.

‘Candle In The Wind 1997’/’Something About The Way You Look Tonight’ was accredited 14x Platinum and was #1 on the 1997 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart.

Prior to the inception of the ARIA Charts in 1983, Elton John scored a #1 in 1976 with his duet with Kiki Dee, ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’.

‘Candle In The Wind 1997’/’Something About The Way You Look Tonight’ was Elton John’s last single to date to appear in the ARIA top 50.
