Nirvana - Nirvana

American grunge band Nirvana took out their third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart when this self-titled career-spanning compilation spent one week in the top spot in November 2002. Coming eight years on from the band’s dissolution following the death of singer Kurt Cobain, Nirvana debuted at #1 and went on to spend three weeks in the top ten and a total of 13 weeks in the top 50.

The album featured tracks from the studio albums Bleach (#34 Feb. ’92), Nevermind (#2 Jan. ’92) and In Utero (#2 Sept. ’93) including ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ (#5 Mar. ’92) and Heart-Shaped Box (#21 Sept. ’93), as well as live tracks and the previously unreleased ‘You Know You’re Right’.

Reaching #60 on the 2002 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart, the album was accredited 5x Platinum.

Nirvana has also topped the ARIA Albums Chart with the live albums MTV - Unplugged In New York (#1 Nov. ’94) and From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishka (#1 Oct. ’96).


Nelly Feat. Kelly Rowland - Dilemma

Rapper Nelly scored his first #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when the Kelly Rowland collaboration ‘Dilemma’ spent four consecutive weeks in the top spot in October/November 2002. Taken from the album Nellyville (#2 Jul. ’02) and the follow-up single to ‘Hot In Herre’ (#3 Jul. ’02), ‘Dilemma’ debuted at #1. After dropping from #1 after four weeks, the single went on to spend14 weeks in the top ten and 19 weeks in the top 50.

‘Dilemma’ was #4 on the 2002 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart and has been accredited 3x Platinum.

Nelly has hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with two other releases: ‘My Place’ /’Flap Your Wings’ (#1 Aug. ’04) and ‘Over And Over’ (#1 Feb. ’05). His most recent chart appearance was with ‘The Fix’ (#3 Sept. ’15).
