Dean Lewis scores first ARIA #1 with Be Alright

August 18, 2018

Moves for Panic! At The Disco, Jonas Blue, George Ezra and more!

Sydney singer-songwriter Dean Lewis claims his first #1 on the ARIA Charts with the single ‘Be Alright’. The track hits the top spot in its seventh week in the Top 50 and its sixth week in the Top Ten.

‘Be Alright’ is the second Australian #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart in 2018 after 5 Seconds Of Summer’s ‘Youngblood’.

Five weeks into its run in the Top 50, Benny Blanco’s ‘Eastside’ moves up one spot to claim a new peak at #4.

Jumping up seven spots, Panic! At The Disco’s ‘High Hopes’ hits #7. It becomes the American group’s first ever Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. Their previous highest peak was with ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ (#12 Aug. ’06).

A week on from cracking the Top Ten for the first time, ‘Rise’, Jonas Blue’s fourth Top Ten single moves up one spot to claim a new peak at #8.

In its third week in the chart, George Ezra moves up 16 spots to #11 with ‘Shotgun’. The single’s parent album, Staying At Tamara’s, has re-entered this week’s Albums Chart at #45.

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Kygo & Imagine Dragons’ ‘Born To Be Yours’ (#18), The Rubens’ ‘Never Ever’ (#25), Zedd & Elley Duhe’s ‘Happy Now’ (#30) and Bebe Rexha’s ‘I’m A Mess’ (#42).

#34: Bazzi ‘Beautiful’ – After scoring his first ARIA Charts hit at the beginning of 2018 with ‘Mine’ (#11 Mar. ’18), American singer-songwriter Bazzi scores a second Top 50 entry with ‘Beautiful’. The original version of the track appeared on Bazzi’s debut album Cosmic (#23 Apr. ’18). Its appearance in the Top 50 comes on the back of the release of a version featuring Camila Cabello.

#43: David Guetta Feat. Anne-Marie ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone’ – French producer David Guetta picks up a second new entry in the Top 50 for 2018 with ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone’. The track features British artist Anne-Marie, who recently peaked at #4 with ‘2002’ (it sits at #20 this week). Guetta charted earlier this year with the Sia collaboration ‘Flames’ (#19 May ’18).

#47: Billie Eilish ‘You Should See Me In A Crown’ – American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish picks up her second Top 50 entry on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘You Should See Me In A Crown’. The track’s debut comes just over a month after Eilish peaked at #5 with ‘Lovely’, which sits at #29 on this week’s chart.

#48: Loud Luxury ‘Body’ – Canadian duo Loud Luxury makes their ARIA Top 50 debut with ‘Body’. The DJs/producers have already hit the Top Ten with the track in Canada, and the UK.
