Moves for Pitch Perfect 3, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone and more!

In its second week in the top 50, the soundtrack to the Hugh Jackman-starring The Greatest Showman climbs seven spots to hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It’s the first soundtrack to top the chart since Fifty Shades Darker (#1 Feb. ’17).

Moving up 29 spots in its third week in the top 50 to #7, the soundtrack to Pitch Perfect 3 becomes the film franchise’s third top ten. It follows on from Pitch Perfect (#9 Jan. ’13) and Pitch Perfect 2 (#3 May ’15).

Imagine Dragons have returned to the top ten at #9 with Evolve. It’s the album’s 28th week in the top 50.

With two tracks still sitting in the top ten on the Singles Chart, Post Malone has jumped back up 28 spots on this week’s Albums Chart to sit at #10 with Stoney.

Notching up an 80th week in the top 50, Cold Chisel’s The Best Of Cold Chisel - All For You climbs back up eleven spots to #13.

There are also significant moves on the chart this week for the Moana soundtrack (up six to #15), Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits (up eleven to #19), Lorde’s Melodrama (up eleven to #21), Khalid’s American Teen (up 17 to #24), Guns N’ Roses’ Greatest Hits (up 18 to #30), Taylor Swift’s 1989 (up nine to #31) and Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. (up twelve to #33).

#6: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard ‘Gumboot Soup’ – Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard take out their fourth top ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart with Gumboot Soup. The seven piece’s 13th studio album was their fifth release in 2017, coming out on 31 December. 2017 saw the band also release the albums Flying Microtonal Banana (#2 Mar. ’17), Murder Of The Universe (#3 Jul. ’17), Sketches Of Brunswick East (#4 Aug. ’17) and the free release Polygondwanaland.
