Sheeran rounds out tour with 27th week at #1 for ÷

With his massive Australia/NZ coming to a close this week, Ed Sheeran holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a 27th week with ÷. Sheeran’s previous albums, X and +, are at #4 and #7, respectively.

Scoring its first appearance in the top ten two weeks ago, Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album dropped back four spots to #13 last week. This week, it’s up five spots to hit a new peak at #8. It’s the album’s 13th week in the chart.

Taylor Swift has experienced a double jump this week. Reputation is up two to #13 and 1989 is up eleven to #14.

There’s a return to the Top 50 for Rag'N'Bone Man’s debut album this week at #23 on the back of the British artist’s national tour. It’s the 31st week Human has appeared in the chart.

Also on tour, Lionel Richie returns to the Top 50 at #38 with The Definitive Collection.

Debuts:

#3: The Weeknd ‘My Dear Melancholy,’ – The Weeknd scores his third top three entry on the ARIA Albums Chart with My Dear Melancholy,. The six-track release includes collaborations with Skrillex, French techno artist Gesaffelstein and Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, among others. Every track from My Dear Melancholy, has charted in the top 50 of this week’s ARIA Singles Chart including ‘Call Out My Name’ at #3. The Weeknd has previously topped the ARIA Albums Chart with Beauty Behind The Madness (#1  Sept. ’15) and Starboy (#1 Dec. ’16). Both previous albums have re-entered the chart this week at #40 and #43, respectively.

#20: Hayley Kiyoko ‘Expectations’ – American musician/actress Hayley Kiyoko makes her ARIA Charts debut with Expectations. Prior to the release of her debut album, Kiyoko released three EPs between 2013 and 2016. Expectations includes a guest appearance by Kehlani.

#25: Kacey Musgraves ‘Golden Hour’ – With her seventh studio album, American country singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves picks up a second top 50 entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. Golden Hour comes three years on from Pageant Material (#33 Jul. ’15). In 2016, Musgraves released the festive album A Very Kacey Christmas.

#39: Escape The Fate ’I Am Human’ – Las Vegas post-hardcore band Escape The Fate return to the chart I Am Human. The group’s with sixth album is their fourth to chart in the top 50, following This War Is Ours (#33 Oct. ’08), Ungrateful (#34 May ’13) and Hate Me (#32 Nov. ’15).
