Sheeran's ÷ overtakes Whispering Jack with 26 weeks at #1

Debuts for Dami Im, George Ezra, The Wolfe Brothers, Jack White and more!

Ed Sheeran’s ÷ remains in the top spot for a 26th week on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album now overtakes John Farnham’s 25 week run at #1 back in 1986/1987. The only other albums that have appeared for longer at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart are Delta Goodrem’s Innocent Eyes (#1 Sept. ‘03) which spent twenty nine weeks at #1 back in 2003/2004, Adele’s ‘21’ (#1 May ’11), which spent thirty two weeks at #1 back in 2011/2012 & Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms (#1 ‘1985) which spent 34 weeks in 1985/1986.

This week Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ continues its climb back up the Top 50, jumping 21 spots to #25.

We also see notable moves from  ‘The Singles’ by Phil Collins’ which resurfaces on the Top 50 ARIA Albums Chart at #36 and The Wiggles – ‘The Best Of’ which jump 12 spots to #37.

As Shawn Mendes releases the first two songs off his upcoming third studio album, his second studio album Illuminate (#3 Oct. ’16) re-enters the chart at #41.

And last but not least Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’ (#1 Nov. ’15) also resurfaces on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart this week at #42.

Debuts:

#3: Dami Im ‘I Hear A Song’  – Korean-born Australian singer-songwriter, and the winner of the fifth season of The X Factor Australia, Dami Im makes her fourth appearance on the ARIA Album Chart top 50 this week with her fifth studio album ‘I Hear A Song’. The album is made up of twelve cover songs and two original tracks. Dami’s previous appearances in the ARIA Top 50 Albums Chart include: Dami Im (#1 Nov ’13), ‘Heart Beats (#7 Oct. ’14) & Classic Carpenters (#3 May ’16).

#7: George Ezra ‘Staying At Tamara’s’  – English Singer-songwriter and musician George Ezra makes his second  top ten appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart with ‘Staying At Tamara’s’. Ezra’s second album comes four years on from his debut album Wanted on Voyage which peaked at #4 in January of 2015.

#9: The Wolfe Brothers ‘Country Heart’ (Debut) – Australian country rock band and runners-up for 2012’s Australia’s Got Talent make their fourth appearance on the Top 50 of the ARIA Albums Chart with their fourth studio album ‘Country Heart’. They have previously appeared with ‘It’s On’ (#18 Jan. ’13), ‘Nothin’ But Trouble’ (#13 Sept. ’14) & ‘This Crazy Life’ (#10 June ’16). 

#11: Jack White ‘Boarding House Reach’ – ‘Boarding House Reach’ is the third solo studio album by American rock musician Jack White. This is Jack’s first solo studio album in nearly four years, following Lazaretto (#3 June ’14). He has also previously appeared on the ARIA Albums Chart with Blunderbuss (#2 April ’12) and Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 (#13 Sept. ’16).
