Avril Lavigne - Let Go

The first of Avril Lavigne’s three #1s to date on the ARIA Albums Chart came when her debut album, Let Go, spent seven weeks in the top spot in late-2002/early-2003. The Canadian singer-songwriter debuted at #3 in September, spending 13 weeks in the Top Ten before hitting #1 for the first time. In total, Let Go spent 40 weeks in the Top Ten and 52 weeks in the Top 50.

Let Go included the singles ‘Complicated’ (#1 Aug. ’02), Sk8er Boi (#3 Nov. ’02) and ‘Losing Grip’ (#20 May ’03).

As well as being accredited 7x Platinum, the album was #10 on the 2002 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart and #2 on the same chart in 2003.

Avril Lavigne has since topped the ARIA Albums Chart with Under My Skin (#1 May ’04) and Goodbye Lullaby (#1 Mar. ’11). She last appeared on the chart with her self-titled fifth album (#7 Nov. ’13).


Eminem - LOse Yourself

Eminem scored his third #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Lose Yourself’ topped the chart for 12 consecutive weeks between December 2002 and February 2003. Featured on the soundtrack to American rapper film, 8 Mile (#1 Jan. ’03), the track debuted at #1 and, after its 12 weeks in the top spot, spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top Ten and 18 weeks in the Top 50.

‘Lose Yourself’ was #2 on the 2003 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart. It was accredited 7x Platinum.

Eminem has also hit #1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Stan’ (#1 Mar. ’01), ‘Without Me’ (#1 May ’02), ‘Just Lose It’ (#1 Nov. ’04), ‘When I’m Gone’ (#1 Jan. ’06), ‘We Made You’ (#1 May ’09), ‘Love The Way You Lie’ (#1 Jul. ’10) and ‘The Monster’ (#1 Nov. ’13).
