Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

August 22, 2018

New releases come from Ariana Grande, Human Nature, Jimmy Barnes and more.

There was a new #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart last week with Sydney singer-songwriter Dean Lewis taking out his debut chart-topper with ‘Be Alright’. On the Albums Chart, Drake returned to #1 for a third week with Scorpion.

Who could we see taking out the top spots on the ARIA Charts this week?

Here are some of the possible debutants and movers.

ALBUMs

Ariana Grande could be headed for her third #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Sweetener; Human Nature set their sights on a fifth #1 album with Romance Of The Jukebox; Jimmy Barnes could have a good showing with Working Class Boy - The Soundtracks; country singer-songwriter Travis Collins will be hoping for a new Albums Chart peak with sixth solo release, Brave And The Broken; American indie rock band Death Cab For Cutie return with ninth album, Thank You For Today.

Following her passing, Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin could hit the chart with a number of tiles including the re-entering Respect - The Very Best Of, as well first time entries The Very Best Of Aretha Volume 1 – The '60s, 30 Greatest Hits, Together - The Very Best Of Aretha Franklin & Otis Redding, The Queen Of Soul: The Atlantic Recordings, Original Album Series, Best Of Aretha Franklin and A Brand New Me: Aretha Franklin (With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra).

Singles

As well as potentially debuting in a high position on the Albums Chart with Sweetener, Ariana Grande could hit the Singles Chart this week with ‘Breathin’, ‘Everytime’, ‘Sweetener’ and ‘R.E.M’; Calvin Harris and Sam Smith team up for the new track, ‘Promises’.

Look out for moves up the Singles Chart this week for Benny Blanco’s ‘Eastside’, George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’, Bazzi’s ‘Beautiful’, and Ariana Grande’s ‘God Is A Woman’ and Ariana Grande ‘No Tears Left To Cry’, among others.

The late Aretha Franklin could hit the Singles Chart with a number of her classics including ‘Respect’ and ‘I Say A Little Prayer’.
